Step1. Warm up
Communicate with Ss.Teacher introduces her self, and her county to make a good relation with Ss.
Step 2. Reading practice
1. Pre-reading :
redict: Teacher show a picture of the article, let Ss guess what happened.(motivate Ss intresets and curiosity to learn )
Listening: Q: Where did the storm happen ?
Who was metioned in the article ?
How was the storm ?(Ss listen to the article with some questions,they can listen with purpose,practice their listening abilities. )
2. While–reading
1)Skimming : Lead Ss to read for the first time,try to divide the article into some parts,and include the main idea for each part.(Use reading stratigies to read firstly )
2) Scanning Read part 1and answer two questions:
How was the wearher before the storm happened ?
What did Ben' s parents do at that time ?
3) Read part 2.
Read together, talk about the activities of Ben's parents.
3) Read part 3 in pair,and try to finish the mind map by Ss self.
3. Post reading
Retell the passage by mind map。(Ss can use the language and the past progressive tense. develop Ss conprehensive language application ability)
Step3. Consolidation and expansion .
Ss showed a video of Liangshan fire disaster let S s make new language points and use the past progressive correctly.(Promote Ss' knowledge remove and they can be a warmhearted person when others in need. )
Step4. Summary and homework .
Write a short passage about the fire disaster of Liangshan.
(Develope Ss ' expressive ability, master the language points by writing.)
