I have read this article aloud over and over again, and I really like this one. I really admire his perseverance and insistence. To achieve his goal of becoming a great singer, he practiced 1-2 hours every night for 15 years, he toured, he learned from different teachers,he took voice lessons and he did many other things. Even though people around him always said “You’re not a singer”, he continued practicing, had great faith in himself and finally he achieved his dream.
This is very an inspiring story. My own oral English is not so good, but I gave up practicing it for some years. However, this year of 2019, I decide to practice reading English every day for at least 20-30 minutes for a whole year.
Besides, I’m also a new beginner in many other aspects, such as writing, making speeches, writing dissertations, but I will follow his example and practice, practice and practice. “It may take mean other 15 years, but I’m determined.”

Today I read three pieces of news: one is about most disappointing movies, one is about an exclusive interview with CEO of Huawei, and the last one is about dramas, documentaries on capital and startups.
This word “extradition” （/,ɛkstrə'dɪʃən/ 引渡） has been appearing in news these days, so I’ve become familiar with it.
In the first news, some disappointing actors, movies have been nominated. I have seen none and I have absolutely no interest in watching them, because it’s a waste of my precious time.
From the second piece of news, I have learned that Huawei is the only company in the world which is capable of equipping 5G base stations with the state-of-the-art microwave technology. I’m so proud as a Chinese.

Every day I have a very regular routine: read English news and practice reading aloud together with students in WeChat group; teach my daughter to learn English and play various games with her; read books and write down my reflections and comments; prepare for my next term lessons and prepare for thesis writing…
I put my mobile phone away to focus on my study, work and daughter. Every day I can do a lot of things and achieve my desired results. To sum up, I’m doing the similar thing as the author. Of course, I can learn a lot from him and try to improve my work efficiency and efficacy.

Then the truth was finally revealed. The title has already given us clues so when we read the article and find out the truth, there is no suspense at all.

Today I read two pieces of news. The first one is about young people being pushed by their parents to get married. I totally understand these young people’s anxiety although I don’t have such problem right now. A decade ago, I was also bothered by the similar problem from relatives and neighbors. But my parents were quite open-minded. I also have some friends and colleagues who are still single and face severe pressure of being pushed to get married from family members, relatives, co-workers, and friends. I totally understand that some people just prefer to be alone enjoy this solitary lifestyle. Other people should not judge them and give them pressure, derision, reprimand.
The other is about a celebrated essayist, Lin Qingxuan who passed away yesterday at the age of 65. Before I graduated from college, I had liked this writer and read some proses written by him. When I was in senior high school, I also listened to an excellent lecture given by him. His essays are really wonderful.

The poem Loss and Remembrance (Mother still loves) takes my fancy. The author tells us how his mother has been influencing him even though she passed away 13 years ago. I’m quite moved by this poem. Our parents have great impacts on us. They always teach me to be honest, kind, hard-working, and they are good examples for us three children to follow. I am a mother now and I also want to exert great influences on my daughter. I will teach these good values to my daughter and try my best to make her a happy child.
