第 16 條
（能力之保護）
權利能力及行為能力，不得拋棄。
（Protection of capability）
Rights and capacity to act cannot be abandoned.
第 17 條
（自由之保護）
（The protection of freedom.）
自由不得拋棄。
（Freedom cannot be abandoned.）
自由之限制，以不背於公共秩序或善良風俗者為限。
Freedom cannot violate public order and good customs.
第 18 條
（人格權之保護）
（Protection of personality rights.）
人格權受侵害時，得請求法院除去其侵害；有受侵害之虞（忧虑）時，得請求防止之。
When your personal rights are violated, You can ask the court for help.When your personal rights may be violated, You can ask the court to help you avoid it.
前項情形，以法律有特別規定者為限，得請求損害賠償或慰撫金。

（姓名權之保護）
（Protection of the right to name）
姓名權受侵害者，得請求法院除去其侵害，並得請求損害賠償。
