“And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’”
Whether are we self-assertive to God? Unless we first experience the baptism from God’s holy spirit. Otherwise, we can’t escape the circumstance. We must remember that our wayward behaviors will hurt Jesus Christ. Maybe other people will not be hurt, but our Lord will be hurt. When we are ramstam, self-assertive and ambitious to do things, we must hurt Jesus’s heart. When we stick to our own idea and intention, we persecute our Lord. If we preserve our dignity, the Holy spirit will be anxious. When we take a tumble to know that we always persecute Jesus, we will be very painful.
When we preach God’s words to other people, whether can we be so acute to understand God’s truth? or our real living is against the truth we preach. Maybe we tell people to be holy, but we keep the spirit of devil at the same time. In this way, we will be persecuting Jesus. The spirit of Jesus only does one thing that he and the Lord are one. He said: “My heart is gentle and humble; you must learn my attitude.” All things I do must become one with the Lord as the foundation instead of our own will to experience a godly life. If we do things according to our own will, we will be molested, pushed out and be ignored by other people. However, if we can submit the Lord, HE will not bear the persecution.
