They are most polite for the people dressed in rich clothes, however, for the people dressed in ordinary clothes, assistants might ask them to leave. For instance, from the picture below, the man dressed in rich clothes passed a shop on the street, obviously, that assistant was strongly hospitable for him and paid no attention to other people dressed in ordinary clothes.
In real life, I also dislike snob intensely. In our company, there are many colleagues graduated from some famous universities except me, but I never feel they are snobbish to me.
