A. 不定冠词的其他用法
1. a 或 an 用在物质名词或抽象名词前，表示具体意义、制成品或种类。
1) The little girl is eating an ice-cream happily.
小女孩正高兴地吃着冰淇淋。
2) It's an honor to be working with you.
能和你一起并肩工作我很荣幸。

3) Honesty is a virtue.
诚实是一种美德。
2. a 或 an 用在人名前：
1>> 表示说话者不认识此人，相当于"a certain"；
1) Our music teacher is a Miss. Smith.
我们的音乐老师是一位姓史密斯的女士。
2) A Mr. Chen came to see you this morning.
一位陈先生今天上午来看你了。
2>> 指与某名人有类似性质的人或事物。
1) He wishes to become a Newton.
他希望成为像牛顿那样的人。
2) He is a Lei Feng in our class.
他是我们班的雷锋。
3. a 或 an 用于专有名词中的地名前，表示某个时期或某个样子的某个地方。
It is now a different China from what it was twenty years ago.
现在的中国和20年前大不一样。
4. a 或 an 用于某些固定词组中。
1) a few 少许，几个
I have a few, but not many.
我有几个，可是不多。
2) a long time 许久，好久，很长时间
He has been waiting here for a long time.
他在这儿等了许久。

3) a little 有一点，稍许，少量
Excuse me, I seem to be a little bit lost.
对不起，我好像有点听不明白了。
4) an hour or two 一两个小时
Their suspense lasted an hour or two.
他们提心吊胆地过了一两个小时。
5) have a look 看一看
Don't allow him to have a look.
不给他看。
6) have a smoke 抽支烟
We went outside to have a smoke.
我们到外面去抽口烟。
7) have a walk 散步
I want you to have a walk with me.
我想你和我去散散步。
8) many a time 许多次
I met him many a time in the bus.
我在公共汽车上见过他多次。
9) once upon a time 从前
Once upon a time, there lived an old man who had two beautiful daughters.
从前，有一个老人，他有两个美丽的女儿。
10) take a bath 洗澡
I always take a bath before going to bed.
我总是在睡觉前洗个澡。
11) turn a deaf ear to 听而不闻，置若罔闻，装没听到
>> Don't turn a deaf ear to me.
不要对我的话充耳不闻。
>> Young people sometimes seem to turn a deaf ear to the words of their anxious parents.
年轻人有时把父母的苦口婆心之言当作耳边风。
