I watched a movie over the weekend on Netflix. It's called "Paddleton".

The main characters, Michael, acted by Mark Duplass and Andy, by Ray Romano are two scruffy single guys who have been buddies since Michael moved into the apartment downstairs from Andy.
When they first met, they were not so friendly. But later, they hang out together all the time, making pizzas and watching martial arts movies, especially the "Death Punch", which is their favorite. They also play a game called “Paddleton”, where they hit a ball against the back of an abandoned drive-in screen and see who can get the ball into a strategically-placed oil drum.
The big scene or the main plot started at the beginning of the movie, when Mark was diagnosed with a terminal cancel. He decides that he wants to end his life before he gets too sick and has those bloating, vomiting and pains. He wants Andy to help.
Andy is reluctant; he thinks his buddy can fight it. But, seeing how steadfast Michael is about it, he agrees to help. This means taking an hours-long drive to one of the few pharmacies that offer the drug combination that will do the deed. It is an unusual friendship between two men.
Here is how it goes. In order for Mark take the drug to "finish" himself, he suppose to take three different drugs. The first one for stopping the vomiting, the second one for calming him down, and the final one is the lethal dose that would stop his heart. The final drug was a tough one. They have to mix 4 ounces of water with the white powder drug out of 100 small capsules. Mark even joked that he wondered somebody might have die while trying to open every little capsule of the drug because it took them so long to do so. I kept waiting for a miracle before Mark drunk the final drug. But nothing happened. He drunk that white liquid in one gulp. Darn!
It took me a while during the movie to figure out whether they were having a straight relationship. I have nothing against that kind of relationship even if they had, by the way. I think the movie is kind of plain, and story is lackluster. But I did feel that it gave me a chance to observe people in common life, the friendship, and how they cope with the life's crisis. Also, Ray Romano is one of my favorite actors on the small screens (TV).We used to watch the TV show "Everybody Loves Raymond". He's kind of funny in a goofy way. It's refreshing to also get see him perform on the big screen.
