Most of professionals, who are from various of industries, know the project management’s importance and benefit at work. For a good project management, not only can it provide the working visibility, focus on the result-oriented and cut down the product development time, but also reduce the cost, so that the company can improve profit margin. In my opinion, it’s not easy to do a better project management. At my work, I always lack rich project management experience. So, learning the project management knowledge is one of my personal plan. The following ideas are from my limited opinions. Welcome you can air your special views.
First, if we plan to do a project management, we must understand what the project we need to do is, which things we need to do, and who put forward the project and what project management ‘s target is and so on. An important warning is that we need to pay close attention to each things’ details before performing the project, so that we can try our best to reduce the project’s risk at the end.
Second, we must learn that the project management involves all partners, who have interest in the matter. In many projects, besides dominant unit, there are also other units involved. It’s very vital that we must communicate with each unit. From them, we can gain some different opinions and expectations. When we perform the project management, facing the different problem, we can know which unit can give more help to resolve the trouble.
Third, before doing the project management, we also need to know various advice from the customers and the top internal Company leaders. Whether our project can be successful mainly depends on the top leaders’ support. Thus, the top leaders’ attitude decides the project management’s strategic position.
Forth, it’s very essential to calculate all resources we have existed before the project management starts, such as time, whatever the past experiences or the equipment used and so on. Among of them, time is very important. Because of the intense competition of the market, many projects are required to be done in very limited time. For example, if we manage the time about the equipment used, no matter we are waiting for the equipment or it is being waited to be used, the time is waste.
In other hand, about all items above, we need to write a formal report involving analyzing the projects’ details and the materials needed. The report must indicate all risk consequences so long as the resources can’t be provided in time.
Finally, after we know all things we need to do and the general strategy about the project management, it’s time to set up a project team. At that time, we need to show our influence to seek for the valuable people we want…
