At present, many companies keep a tolerant attitude against the fact that the staff can eat snacks at the office. Even some companies completely keep an open attitude. In our company, eating snacks at the office doesn’t allowed per the company’s rules. However, almost all staff eat spicy food or fruits in secret. From my point of review, instead of eating snacks in secret, it’s a better that the company can tolerate staff to enjoy it happily. Now I’d like to talk about three reasons below.
First, physically speaking, some office workers are hungry easily between 10AM to 11:00AM or 3:00PM to 4:00PM. During the time, if there are some informal snacks provided, it is effective for staff to add energy to deal with the work. After eating some snacks, their impatient emotions can be released.
Second, for some careers like engineers, advertisers, teachers, sellers and so on, it’s also a good idea for them to make the atmosphere active if the colleagues can share with some snacks at work. Maybe just then some new ideas are also stimulated. Per the survey, snacks can make people produce a sense of enjoyment, so it is more positive for staff to do the work after eating some snacks.
Third, I heard that eating snacks also involves the corporate culture. A good company stresses the staff’s sense of belonging and sense of identity, but this opinion doesn’t mean that the company allow the staff to eat snacks at work. It’s true that the staff certainly can’t gain the sense of identity if the company strictly punish the staff so long as they don’t obey the rules.
In my opinion, no matter whether the staff can eat snacks at the office, this matter also tests the wisdom between managers and staff. It means how the company improve the management style and the staff obey their career rules. About eating snack at the office, even the company has given some willingness without being punished, we should know that the company’s toleration is limited. Our behaviors should be careful in moderation.
