我们现在庆祝的五四青年节起源于一百零一年前的五四运动，青年学生上街抗议国家受到不公正对待。五四运动用英文怎么说呢？一般我接触到的翻译是 May Fourth Movement。以下来自维基百科
“The May Fourth Movement was an anti-imperialist, cultural, and political movement which grew out of student protests in Beijing on 4 May 1919.”
Anti- 这个前缀一般都有反的意思或者是抵抗。比如在美国堕胎(abortion) 就是一个颇有争议的事情，很多人都是Anti-abortion。
五四既然是国内的传统，国外居然也凑巧在今天也过节，这个节还不是什么正正规规的节日。它是由著名导演倡导的，无数粉丝都前来打call，有点像圈文化。
这个节的产生，和下面这个一语双关有紧密的联系。英语里面五四五四，不是 Five four 而是 May Fourth。
May the fourth be with you 其实双关的是哪一句呢？
May the force be with you.
希望力量与你同在。
May可以是五月，也可以是情态动词，可能，愿。Force 则和 fourth音近。这个梗看过那系列电影的应该不陌生。
所以在美国这个电影迷五四就开始庆祝Star Wars Day 星球大战日。
