柳绿花红莺燕舞，
Willows green and flowers red, orioles and swallows dance
京都料峭风微。
The capital is chilly with a gentle breeze
菊香书屋奏琴徽。
In the study scented with chrysanthemums, the zither is playing music
依然明月在，
The bright moon still shines
何日彩云归？
When will the colorful clouds return
地覆天翻君亦老，
The world has greatly changed and you, my friend, have aged
东征北伐声威。
Eastern and Northern Expeditions demonstrated your prestige
草山薄雾拂单衣。
On the grassy hills, mist caresses your thin clothes
我今寻老友，
Today I seek the old friend
把手话心扉。
To speak my heart out hand in hand
