    2016年真题  作文部分

Is damage to the environment the inevitable consequence of improving the living standard?

Recently, the American president Donald Trump withdrew from the Paris climate deal. This was a big turn. He said the accord did little help the environment and unfairly punished the United States by holding it to tougher standards than other top polluters. Furthermore, it imposed the economic load on our people’s life. However, I think it is an unreasonable decision, without the accountability for improving the  living standard. Even if you have the advanced science and technology, the environment become poor, everything in our world, including the living standard, will fall into dire straits. See, how importance the environment it is. Still, governments, companies and people are in the cost of environment to strengthen the living standard.

Environmental destruction includes the climate change, ocean crisis, illegal logging and etc. All these are wrecked by human’s regular activities, we drive the car to discharge the carbon dioxide, cut down trees to damage our nature environment, overfish to cause many sea creatures at the edge of extinction. Everything we done to the environment will revenge on us. So we should bear in mind one thing, “Improving our living standard is something, but protecting the environment is everything.” Obviously, the result of improving the living standard have detrimental effect on environment, but it is not inevitable.

Fortunately, we still have a favorable turn. On the basis of improving the living standard, government could issue the strict law to regulate things go south. With the punishments, including the tax revenue and community service, the rate of people breaking the law will descend. For scientists, they could do more research on studying green transport and energy, as well as the recycling technology. For educators, they could help children build up the awareness of environmental protection as a top priority. For people ourselves, we should do the utmost to protect our own environment.

To conclude, damage to the environment is not the inevitable trend for improving the living standard. Now, we have a well-being life, but there are still a lot of things we can do to protect our environment, so it’s your decision.
