一时王太医来，先诊了脉，后说病证，也与前相仿，只是方子上果没有枳实、麻黄等药，倒有当归、陈皮、白芍等药；那分两较先又减了些。

宝玉喜道：“这才是女孩儿们的药。虽疏散，也不可太过。旧年我病了，却是伤寒，内里饮食停滞，他瞧了、还说我禁不起麻黄、石膏、枳实等虎狼药。我和你们一比，我就如那野坟圈子里长的几十年的一棵老杨树，你们就如秋天芸儿送我的那才开的白海棠的；我禁不起的药，你们如何禁得起?”

The only difference was that his prescription didn’t include drastic medicines such as immature orange fruit or ephedra. All of these were replaced by much more milder herbs like angelica, orange peel and white peony root. Meanwhile, the weight of medicine also lessened.(旁白)

Baoyu said gladly: “ These are medicines which suit for girls. But it shouldn’t reduce too much as it has been dispersed.I got typhoid in the past and I don't want to eat. The doctor see the prescription and said that I can't stand the tiger medicine, like ephedra, plaster and immature bitter orange. Compared with your girls, I am like an very old aspen growing in the wild grave and your girls are like that just-open Malus spectabilis that Yuer had given me; I just can't understand those medicine, how can your girls stand?"(宝玉二)

(一共出场两个人，王太医和贾宝玉，宝玉台词比较多，王太医只要把脉，写药单就好了，旁白一人)
