hello, 好久不见，也好久没有跟新了。因为准备寒假课程，最近这段时间实在太忙。
好了，废话不多说，我们今天继续八卦！
不过，今天不八卦人。眼看春节马上就到了，我们来八卦下春节的食物，避免回家过年家人考你英语-饺子用英语怎么说时，你干瞪眼就是说不出来的尴尬。
浏览Chinadaily时，看到一篇关于全国各地春节吃的10种食物的文章，我的口水就could not stop falling(秀下之前记得词串)。
总共10种食物，我先说自己喜欢的5种。
文章如下：

In China, food and festival always go hand in hand. And the Spring Festival definitely brings out the best of every cuisine around China. This time, let's focus on 10 of the simplest but most essential parts of the Spring Festival food list.

1. Dumpling( jiaozi). [Photo/VCG]
For people from northern China, the dumpling is a must-have on the dinner table on Chinese NewYear's Eve. The shape of the dumpling resembles the gold ingot from ancient China. So eating dumplings means a wish for treasure and good fortune.

2. Tangyuan and yuanxiao. [Photo/VCG]
Tangyuan,glutinous rice balls stuffed with a sweet or salty filling, is not exclusive to the Lantern Festival. It is a food for the winter solstice or any occasion of a family reunion. Nowadays, tangyuan often come in rainbow-like colors and are filled with many flavors, such as fruit preserves.
Yuanxiao fromnorthern China is actually made quite differently. Instead of wrapping thefilling inside the dough, you need to roll the diced filling in the flour untilthey turn into white pellets.

3. Ricecake ( niangao). [Photo/VCG]
Made of glutinous rice flour, rice cake has been in Chinese cuisine since the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC). Gold and white rice cakes become the symbols of gold and silver. And the Chinese character for cake is gao whose homophonic means growth, improvement or greater accomplishment.

4. Noodles. [Photo/VCG]
A bowl of longnoodles, usually uncut, represents the string of life or longevity. It also reminds people of the strings holding copper coins together in ancient China,which symbolize treasure and wealth.

5. Traditional Chinese rice pudding ( zongzi). [Photo/VCG]
Attention please, Chinese rice pudding is not just for the Dragon Boat Festival! In SouthChina's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, rice puddings with a variety of stuffings are made for the Spring Festival. Local people sometimes boil zongzi for over 10 hours. The heavy ones may weigh over 5 kilograms.
我在看八卦学英语（1）中说过，看文章学英语有五部：
1.通读全文，了解大意
2.逐字翻译，查词学习
3.划定意群，摘抄有用的词串
4.背诵
5.出去浪
当然，这只是我个人的经验，大家不必非得拘泥于我的这种的形式，可以根据自己的学习方法和习惯总结出合适自己的学习步骤。
比如有些人喜欢跳过第一步，上来直接读文章，边读边摘串。
比如，我们上学时，老师经常念叨说，考阅读理解（英语和语文）有不认识的生词，要根据上下文猜词意和大意。我们不妨在平时的阅读中也将这一步加上。
再比如，你是个内向的孩子，平时没多少机会出去浪，那怎么办呢？
其实，自己跟自己浪也是不错的体验。比如用词串造句，编英文故事给自己听。
anyway, 适合你的才是对你有用的。
同时，我会示范如何摘串，如何有效记忆和活用词串。

好了，言归正传，我们开始摘串吧！
第一段里有好几个我非常喜欢的词串。
1. Spring Festival is in the air. 春节的氛围无处不在。
我听过一首歌，名字叫做“love is in the air”, 翻译过来就是“爱无处不在”，所以上面的应该翻译成“春节的氛围无处不在”，应该不会错的。
这叫新旧知识的挂钩。
但是这种情况只能用抽象的名词作主语，如果是实词，比如灯笼，桌子什么的，翻译过来感觉怪怪的，不信你感受下：
red lanterns are in the air. （是飘在天上的孔明等吗？），这样用好像不太对喔。
2. As the peak of chunyun is at hand. 春运高峰即将到来。
这里其实是两个词串，一个是as the peak of chunyun 春运高峰, 另一个是 be at hand 即将到来. 如果你嫌上面整句太长，可以分开记忆。
3. red lanterns are decorating the neighborhood. 左邻右舍都挂上的灯笼。
同上也是有两个，red lanterns 灯笼 decorate the neighborhood 左邻右舍挂起（张贴......）
造个句子：Couplet are decorating the neighborhood.（左邻右舍都贴了上对联）
4. go hand in hand 紧密相关；齐头并进
造句：money and power always go hand in hand. 钱权紧密相关。
5. bring out the best cusines 带来美味佳肴
摘出来这个词串，是因为cusine这个单词有所遗忘，顺便重温下，省的被大脑清除。
6.dumpling 饺子
怎么能忘记我们的主角，一定要学会，因为以前每每回家，村里人都会找机会考我，因为我是学英语的。
7. a must-have on the dinner table 一道在餐桌上必不可少的菜
对我来说，肉丸子也是一道餐桌上必不可少的菜，so：Meatball is a must-have on the dinner table. 这种新旧知识的挂钩，瞬间给我一种词汇量暴增的感觉。这大概就是江湖人称的“活学活用”吧，哈哈！
8. For people from northern China 对北方人来说; on Chinese NewYear's Eve 在除夕夜
对于英语学习者来说，介词总是无可奈何的存在。所以与其费劲去记也记不住他们的用法，不如直接记词串实在。
9. the gold ingot 金元宝
原来元宝是这么翻译的。说出它感觉词汇量很大的感觉有木有？那这类词拿去装逼是很酷的喔。
10. Tangyuan,glutinous rice balls stuffed with a sweet or salty filling，is...... 汤圆，馅分甜咸两种，是......
其实汤圆和元宵我从来没分清楚过。glutinous rice balls（糯米球） stuffed with a sweet or salty filling（充满甜的或者咸的馅） ，何在一块儿翻译出来是：馅是甜或咸的糯米球。根据自己的情况，决定是分开记还是何在一块儿记。
另外，我主要想说下这个句型：tangyuan, ......, is ...... 如果你对一种东西做解释说明，又不想写成两个句子的话，用这个句型是非常地道的喔。
11.be not exclusive to the Lantern Festival 不是元宵节的独有之物
例子: dumpling is not exclusive to the spring festival.
12. a food for the winter solstice or any occasion of a family reunion 一种迎接冬至带来或者庆祝任何家庭团聚时刻的食物
初学者切记不要摘这么长的句子，尽量切割成一个个小串，等记熟了小串之后，再把它们像串羊肉串一样的穿起来，成为一个大串。
我摘成一个大串的目的是为记for的这个用法。因为不想去记语法规则，直接记住词串，也就记住了语法，一举两得。
13. come in rainbow-like colors 被做成了五颜六色。
例子：dumplings come in rainbow-like colors. 饺子被包成了五颜六色。
英语是主动语态，但翻译成汉语是被动语态。你需要了解英汉语言之间的差异。
14. fruit preserves 蜜饯
15. ricecake 糯米糕
与汤圆原料相同，但制作方法不一样。
16. the symbols of gold and silver 金银的象征； the Spring and Autumn Period 春秋时期
那我们也会说幸福的象征之类的，唐宋事情等
17. the Chinese character for cake 中国式蛋糕
16. homophonic means 寓意
我猜的，你要是不信，自己可以查查。但是我很享受猜词，因为我可以记得更牢固。
17. longevity 寿命
18. copper coin 铜币
19. Traditional Chinese rice pudding=zongzi 粽子
boil zongzi 蒸粽子
20. the Dragon Boat Festival 端午节
记得跟老外谈笑风生时，告诉他们端午节是中国的。
写的吐血，剩下的明天说吧。
