A husband was worried that his wife was going deaf. He went to a doctor to ask what to do. The doctor told the husband to test his wife's hearing. He said the husband should stand far away and ask her a question. If she doesn't respond, he should walk closer and ask again.

When the husband got home, his wife was cooking in the kitchen. He asked her what was for dinner. But she didn't say anything. He stepped closer and asked again, but she still didn't say anything. He tried two more times. Nothing.
丈夫回到家中，他的妻子正在厨房做饭。他问妻子晚餐吃什么，但是没有得到回应。他走近后再问了一遍，还是没有回应。他再尝试了两次，妻子依旧毫无反应。
Finally, he stood right behind his wife. He started to ask one last time. At that moment, she yelled, “I told you four times already. We're having noodles.” The man then realized that he might be going deaf.
最后他索性直接站在妻子的后面，再问了她一次。这时，妻子冲他喊道： “我已经说了四遍了，晚餐吃面条。”于是这位男士才意识到原来失聪的是他自己。
