No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. ---Romans 8:37
Paul listed many things. It seemed that he wanted to separate the saints from the love of God. but curiously, nothing can separate a saint from the love of God. These things can go into the practice of human service. If we separate God, it will separate the individual life from God. But nothing can separate between the love of God and the heart of the saints.
The cornerstone of our faith is that God’s cross in Calvary demonstrated the unfathomable and wonderful love, but we shall never deserve. Paul said, “Because of this, in all these things we have become more than conquerors. In the very thing to subdue us, let us gain the sheer joy.” Waves feared by swimmers are delighted for skiers. For the same reason, these things including tribulation, affliction and persecution can bring joy in us. These things are not what we fight about. With the energy God grants, we are more than conquerors in all these troubles. It is not “despite” to make us win, but we win during these troubles. Believers never feel the joy of the Lord because of the trouble, but they can experience Joy in the affliction. Paul said,” I have great joy in my affliction.”
Eternal joy is not built in the ephemeral, but in God’s unchanging love. No matter how the experience of life is terrible or monotonous, these cannot affect God’s love to us in our Jesus Christ. 新区 Dear God, for the joy of my life, such as my parents’ good relationship, my smooth work, good relationship between my friends and grace of the holy spirit, I praise you. How wonderful the joy and blessing they bring are!
