On Wednesday evening , we went to the town hall , it was the last day of the year and a large crowd of people had gathered under the town hall clock , it would strike twelve in twenty minutes time , fifteenfifty minutes passed and then , at five to twelve , the clock stopped , the big minute hand did not move , we waited and waited , but nothing happened , suddenly someone shouted it s two minutes past twelve , the clock has stopped , i looked at my watch it was trues , the big clock refused to welcome the new year , at that moment everybody began to laugh and sing.

这篇文章介绍了新年前的最后一页大家原本是打算去市政厅下的大楼进行倒数狂欢的，谁知道中在11点55分的时候停了，虽然总有小意外发生，但是也没有扫了大家开心跨年的兴致。其实将文章的3个时间节点抓出来，11点40前、11点55分和12点02分，这样故事的情节就很清楚了，背诵起来也会更清晰哦~11点40分，大家去市政厅那里，发现已经有很大群人聚集在一起了。11点55分时，大钟停止了。大大的分钟没有移动；而大家都不知道，还在等啊等。12点02分时有人大喊钟停了。而我看了表后发现真的停了，其他人这时才恍然大悟，不过也没有关系，依旧开心的又唱又笑起来，甚至还开玩笑说，这个大钟在拒绝迎接新年，是不是也是怕老一岁啊~哈哈哈
