念“阿弥陀佛”,老少咸宜

Reciting “Buddha Amitabha” suits people of all ages

法王如意宝说:“念佛时,应像年轻人谈恋爱日夜想着对方一样,要一直想着往生极乐世界、想着阿弥陀佛的功德。

Our guru, H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche, says, “When we practice chanting the name of Amitabha, we should recall Buddha Amitabha’s great kindness and yearn for a Pure Land rebirth day and night, unceasingly, just like young people in love think of each other.

若能如此,决定可以往生。”

By so doing, we definitely will attain rebirth to the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.”

印光大师讲过:“念佛一法,约有四种,所谓持名、观像、观想、实相。

The Venerable Yin Kuang said, “In general, there are four methods to prac­tice mindfulness of Buddha Amitabha: oral recitation of the Buddha’s name, visualization of the Buddha’s image, meditation on the characteristics of the Buddha’s body and mindfulness of Buddha’s absolute nature.

就四法中,唯持名一法,摄机最普,下手最易,不致或起魔事。”

Among these four, oral recitation has the broadest appeal and is the easiest to practice, with­out the risk of encountering ‘demonic events.’ ”

实相念佛,即念阿弥陀佛法性之身;

Mindfulness of the absolute nature means to be mindful of Buddha Am­itabha’s dharmakaya;

观想念佛,即观想阿弥陀佛的相好;

meditation on physical characteristics means to meditate on Buddha Amitabha’s major and minor marks;

观像念佛,是依唐卡或佛像而观;

visualization of the image is to visualize Buddha Amitabha with the help of pictures or thangka* drawings;

持名念佛,是念阿弥陀佛名号。

oral recitation is to recite the name of Buddha Amitabha.

大师认为,在这四种念佛中,持名念佛操作起来很容易,即使没有文化的人,也可得到利益。

The Venerable maintained that among these four ways to practice mindful­ness of Buddha Amitabha, oral recitation of Buddha’s name is easy to execute and can yield great benefit, even for people with little education.

汉地有这样一则公案:

A story from the Han region goes like this:

谛闲法师小时候有一玩伴,此人长大后一直做锅漏匠,在四十来岁时,他觉得人生很苦,就在谛闲法师座下出家了。

A Dharma teacher, Di Xiang, had a childhood friend who grew up to be a repairman of pots. When this man was in his forties, he became weary of life’s bitterness and decided to become a monk under teacher Di Xiang’s guidance.

因为没有文化,再加上人老了,他也做不了什么,于是谛闲法师给他找了一座废弃的小庙,并安排好居士给他烧饭。

Considering the new monk’s scant education and older age, Dharma teach­er Di Xiang found him a tiny deserted temple to stay in, and arranged for a layperson to cook for him.

法师对他说:“你就念一句佛号,念累了就休息,休息好了再念……这样一直念下去,将来一定会有好处。”

He then instructed the monk, “You shall do nothing but recite the name Buddha Amitabha. Take a break when you’re tired, resume when you’re rested. Just keep on going like this. Eventually, you will see the benefit.”

这个人也很听话,三年没有出庙门,一直专心念佛。

This man turned out to be quite obedient, and for three years he sin­gle-mindedly said the Buddha’s name, without venturing out from his shel­ter even once.

有一天,他离开寺庙,到城里去看亲戚朋友。

Later, he left the temple one day to visit his friends and relatives in the vil­lage.

晚上回来后,跟烧饭的老居士说:“明天你不要替我烧饭了。”

When he returned at night, he told his helper cook, “You need not to prepare meals for me tomorrow.”

老居士想:“师父三年都没出门,今天出去看朋友,大概明天有人请吃饭,所以叫我不要烧饭。”

The layperson thought, his old monk has not been out for three years; today was the first time he went to see his friends. Perhaps he will be treated to a meal tomorrow and that’s why he asked me not to cook.

第二天吃过午饭后,老居士到庙里去看师父,结果发现他在窗边站着往生了。

After lunchtime the next day, the layperson went to the temple to check on the monk, but found him passed away in a standing position by the window.

这个人从未学过净土经典,也不会观想,

This old monk had not studied the scriptures of the Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, nor was he skilled in visualization.

但由于非常有信心,最终也得到了生死自在的境界。

Yet through his unwavering faith and devotion, he eventually attained the stage of mastering life and death.

小时候,我就发现,有些人连佛菩萨的像都分不清楚,

When I was a little boy, I noticed many people could hardly distinguish among various images of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

比如二十一度母,由于每一尊度母的身相、手印都不同,所以很难认得出来。

For instance, each of the Twenty-One Taras† has her own bodily features and hand gestures, and it’s not easy to delineate the differences among them.

像我父亲,释迦牟尼佛和阿弥陀佛也分不清,本来释迦牟尼佛是单手托钵,阿弥陀佛是双手托钵,他却经常搞混。

My father, for one, was confused between Buddha Shakyamuni and Buddha Amitabha. The former holds an alms bowl with a single hand while the latter holds it with both hands, but my father always got them mixed up.

但是,由于他平时对极乐世界很有信心,临终时也是在念佛声中去世的。

Still, he had unshakable faith in Buddha Amitabha’s Pure Land, and he died surrounded by the chanting of Buddha’s name.

从临终的表现来看,他可能往生净土了。

From the signs in his last moment, he very likely has been reborn in the Pure Land.

同样,别的老人去世时这种现象也不在少数。

Many other old folks have also died in a similar fashion.

佛陀说:“智慧不高但有诚挚信心的人,很容易成就,很容易往生。”

The Buddha says, “With heartfelt faith, even a dull person can attain ac­complishment and be reborn in the Pure Land with ease.”

* Thangkas are Tibetan Buddhist paintings on cotton, or silk applique, usually depict­ing a Buddhist deity, scene, or mandala.

† Twenty-One Taras are forms of female Buddhas of compassion and action, each related to a color and a quality or aspect of her.

地藏菩萨摄受诸众生,如地众多功德依止处,

三地满愿犹如如意宝,十地自在尊前敬礼赞。

地地引导增进至佛地,地精药谷庄稼恒增长,

此地众多财宝悉充满,圣尊地藏王前敬礼赞。

妙瓶如意树及圆劫云,甘露大海若谁忆念您,

赐彼圆满吉祥善住者,大悲为体尊前敬礼赞。

拥有浩瀚诸佛及佛子,胜德虚空藏者唯一您,

无尽刹中示现菩萨相,护持所有佛业尊前礼。

无量功德摩尼之光芒,彻底遣除浊世诸衰损,

圆满四部祥瑞而成办,巍巍伟业尊前敬礼赞。

文殊普贤弥勒观自在,此等极为殊胜大菩萨,

多劫之中供养并祈祷,佛说不如顷刻忆念您,

如意满足一切所求愿,极为超胜佛之最胜子,

与佛无别如是赞叹您。故当于我惠赐诸所欲,

三地众生普获胜信心,地藏自在王您哀摄受,

地精祥增大地遍安乐,地地升进佛地愿成就。

如是等同八吉祥物数之偈颂,于火马年室宿月二十七日麦彭蒋华吉巴(不败文殊欢喜者)撰著。愿增善妙!

发愿偈:

地藏菩萨您发广大心 事业大愿及与智悲力

无上智慧幻化众功德 唯愿吾等如是获成就

《莲师金刚七句祈祷文》

吽             吽

欧坚耶杰呢向灿邬金刹土西北隅

贝玛给萨东波拉 莲茎花胚之座上

雅灿巧格欧哲尼 稀有殊胜成就者

贝玛炯内义色札 世称名号莲花生

括德喀卓芒布果 空行眷属众围绕

且杰吉色达哲杰 我随汝尊而修持

辛吉洛协夏色所 为赐加持祈降临

《普获悉地祈祷文》

智波格热灿嘉当化现八名莲花生

智波仁怎钦波嘉 八大成就持明者

向森涅沃这嘉当 八大菩萨随佛子

哲庆嘎嘉拉措拉 八大法行本尊众

所瓦得所辛吉洛 祈请赐予胜加持

协囊桑沃瓦恰所 内外密障悉消除

三巴耶因哲巴当 如意成就诸所望

巧当屯孟欧哲作 垂赐共不共悉地

二十一度母赞

嗡杰怎玛帕玛卓玛拉香擦洛

嗡!顶礼至尊圣度母

顶礼奋迅救度母 目如刹那闪电光

三域怙主莲花面 花蕊绽放从中现

顶礼月色白度母 秋百满月聚集脸

成千群星同汇聚 尽放威光极灿然

顶礼紫磨金色母 莲花庄严其妙手

布施精进苦行静 安忍禅定行境性

顶礼如来顶髻母 奉持无边尊胜行

获得无余波罗蜜 一切佛子近依止

顶礼吽音叱咤母 声遍欲色虚空界

其足压伏七世间 皆能勾招尽无余

顶礼帝梵恭奉母 火神风神自在供

鬼王起尸及寻香 夜叉众会皆赞叹

顶礼胜伏他方母 札啪尽毁敌惑轮

右屈左伸足压伏 盛燃熊熊烈火焰

顶礼大怖救度母 摧毁一切凶猛魔

莲花容颜现颦眉 无余斩尽诸仇怨

顶礼三宝严印母 手指当胸露威严

庄严无余诸方轮 自之光芒普萦绕

顶礼欢悦威德母 顶饰光鬘诚斑斓

喜笑大笑圣咒音 怀柔群魔与世间

顶礼解厄圣度母 能召一切护地神

颦眉竖动发吽光 消除所有诸贫穷

顶礼月相冠冕母 一切饰品极璀璨

无量光佛髻中现 恒常光芒最耀眼

顶礼烈焰圣度母 如末劫火住光鬘

右伸左屈喜姿态 击毁一切诸敌军

顶礼颦眉圣度母 手掌压地足踩踏

面露怒容发吽声 击破七重一切处

顶礼安乐柔善母 寂灭涅槃行境性

真实咒语嗡索哈 摧毁一切大罪恶

顶礼明觉吽度母 众会围绕极欢喜

怨敌之身悉击碎 十字庄严明咒吽

顶礼震撼三界母 足踏吽相为种子

须弥玻雪曼达ra 三世间界皆摇动

顶礼灭毒圣度母 手持天海相皎月

诵二达ra啪字声 无余灭除一切毒

顶礼天王所敬母 天人非人咸依止

披甲欢喜之威德 遣除争斗与恶梦

顶礼消疫圣度母 日月双眸光鲜明

诵二哈ra德达ra 消除剧猛瘟疫病

顶礼具光胜度母 安立一切三真如

正具寂灭威神力 摧魔起尸夜叉众

匝沃锕基多巴德当  香擦瓦呢  涅协匝结

以根本咒礼赞二十一度母终

顶礼至尊圣度母 明咒能救诸忧苦

大悲无碍勇度母 祈祷赐我胜成就

短赞(二)

至尊度母您垂念 祈求救脱诸苦难
