    Question:

In many countries, more and more young people are unable to find jobs after graduation. What problems do you think youth unemployment will cause to the individual and society? What can be done to cope with this problem?

    Answer:

Over the past few years, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of unemployed people among the youngsters, which, unfortunately, is not an isolated phenomenon according to various official documents and scientific researches. Solid evidence has shown that it has exerted effects on the individuals both respectively and collectively, including boosting anxiety and security crises. Given its obstructive influence, immediate initiatives should be programed to get the unemployment rate under control. (73 words)

First above all, the graduates’ anxiety over their own financial independence spirals excessively when they are out of employment because it means that they will have to live on social funds from the governments or receive aids from their parents or friends, which is not honorable at all. Suffering from such a traumatized experience of self-worthlessness results directly in their higher level of stress that might drive them sick psychologically. Worse even, the possibility that those jobless and moneyless youngsters might become a potential threat to social security cannot be ruled out. Due to the lack of income, some workless people show higher tendency to commit crime and delinquency, violating other people’s interest and safety for their own sake. (120 words)

It is plain to see that proper measures should be taken to prevent the unemployment rate from soaring for the benefits of our communities. The national education administrations may enlarge the number of master programs to attract more bachelors to continue their academic pursuits so that there will be less people getting laid-off. On the bright side, it is also a worthy investment since it helps to maximize the talents needed for future evolution. Needless to say, more projects aiming at improving the economic conditions of the rural areas should be initiated in order to provide people with more positions. Especially for those who were born in the countryside, they do not have to migrate to the large cities, instead, they can stay home and help build more roads, bridges, dams and factories. (134 words)

In conclusion, it takes joint efforts from both the national authorities and the independent citizens to fight against unemployment in order to secure a better social environment for all members, especially for countries with huge population like China. (38 words)
