After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. (Matthew 17:1 NIV)

There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. (Matthew 17:2 NIV)

The disciples asked him, “Why then do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first?” (Matthew 17:10 NIV)

Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah comes and will restore all things. (Matthew 17:11 NIV)

But I tell you, Elijah has already come, and they did not recognize him, but have done to him everything they wished. In the same way the Son of Man is going to suffer at their hands.” (Matthew 17:12 NIV)

Then the disciples understood that he was talking to them about John the Baptist. (Matthew 17:13 NIV)

Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment. (Matthew 17:18 NIV)

Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” (Matthew 17:19 NIV)

He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20 NIV)

After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma temple tax came to Peter and asked, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the temple tax?” (Matthew 17:24 NIV)

“But so that we may not cause offense, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours.” (Matthew 17:27 NIV)
《马可福音》9章
耶稣又对他们说：“我实在告诉你们，站在这里的，有人在没尝死味以前，必要看见 神的国大有能力临到。” (马可福音 9:1 和合本)
And he said to them, “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the kingdom of God has come with power.” (Mark 9:1 NIV)

Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus. (Mark 9:8 NIV)

Jesus replied, “To be sure, Elijah does come first, and restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer much and be rejected? (Mark 9:12 NIV)

But I tell you, Elijah has come, and they have done to him everything they wished, just as it is written about him.” (Mark 9:13 NIV)

When they came to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd around them and the teachers of the law arguing with them. (Mark 9:14 NIV)

As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him. (Mark 9:15 NIV)

When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the impure spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,”he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.” (Mark 9:25 NIV)

The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He’s dead.” (Mark 9:26 NIV)

He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer. ” (Mark 9:29 NIV)

They left that place and passed through Galilee. Jesus did not want anyone to know where they were, (Mark 9:30 NIV)

because he was teaching his disciples. He said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill him, and after three days he will rise.” (Mark 9:31 NIV)

But they did not understand what he meant and were afraid to ask him about it. (Mark 9:32 NIV)

They came to Capernaum. When he was in the house, he asked them, “What were you arguing about on the road?” (Mark 9:33 NIV)

But they kept quiet because on the way they had argued about who was the greatest. (Mark 9:34 NIV)

Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.” (Mark 9:35 NIV)

He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in his arms, he said to them, (Mark 9:36 NIV)

“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.” (Mark 9:37 NIV)
