该句源自娱乐新闻，说的是媒体大肆宣传之下，美国流行天后碧昂丝生下双胞胎的新闻一经传出，便在社交网站引起热议。其中，fanfare 一词需引起重视。
fanfare:
a short loud piece of music played on a trumpet to introduce an important person or event [2]
fanfare 本义是“（介绍大人物进场或宣布重要事件时吹奏的）一段号角声”，文中用作比喻义，指“喧闹，热议等”。
【例句】
(1) The deal was announced with much fanfare. [3]
这桩生意在一片热议中被宣布成交。
(2) The company was privatised with a **fanfare **of publicity. [4]
公司的私有化搞得沸沸扬扬。
结合6月初的菜鸟顺丰之争，我们可仿写一句：
(3) Cainiao (e-commerce giant Alibaba's logistics affiliate) and Shunfeng Express had a row over sharing customers' information, which got much fanfare on social media.
菜鸟（电商巨头阿里巴巴旗下的物流公司）与顺丰速运就客户信息共享问题产生争执，这起纠纷在社交媒体上闹得沸沸扬扬。

该句摘自CNN的一篇评论员文章，讲的是韩朝非军事区20英里开外的韩国束草市 (Sokcho) 受益于技术漏洞，是韩国唯一能玩 Pokémon GO 游戏的地方，吸引了大批国内外旅游者，带动了当地经济发展。
formula 在数学上指“公式；方程式”，用于药品、燃料、饮料等领域，表“配方”，而在体育竞技方面，是“一级/二级/三级方程式（赛车）”，但在本句中，该词可理解为“方案，方法”。
formula:
a method or set of principles that you use to solve a problem or to make sure that something is successful [6]
【例句】
(1) There's no magic **formula **for a perfect marriage. [7]
没有一个达到完美婚姻的神奇方法。
(2) With viewing figures up a million, the programme has a winning formula. [8]
收视人数增加一百万，这个节目拥有吸引观众的法宝。
仿写：

“一带一路”倡议将会成为促进我国经济长期稳定增长的妙方。

3. Al Jazeera has been in the **crosshairs **of Qatar's Gulf neighbours. (2017/6/17 BBC) [9]

这句话指的是受沙特等国与卡塔尔断交风波影响，6月17日当天，半岛电视台 (Al Jazeera) 阿拉伯语频道的官方推特账号被封。
cross ****hairs:
a pair of fine wires crossing at right angles at the focus of an optical instrument or gun sight, for use in positioning, aiming, or measuring [10]
crosshair 字面义是“光学仪器或瞄准器上呈十字形的两条细丝，用于确定位置、瞄准或测量”，可引申为“攻击对象、靶子或目标等”之义。
据此，原句可改写为：
Al Jazeera has been targeted by Qatar's Gulf neighbours.
【例句】
(1) The senator's voting record was in the **crosshairs **of his political rivals. [11]
该参议员的选举记录受到政敌们的攻击。
(2) The war on terrorism has put Saddam Hussein in the crosshairs.** **[12]
这场反恐战争（伊拉克战争）让萨达姆·侯赛因成为了众矢之的。
仿写：

今年迈阿密网球公开赛女单决赛上，英国选手约翰娜·孔塔完胜丹麦名将沃兹尼亚奇，首次捧起顶级强制赛事的冠军奖杯，世界排名重返前十，其人气迅速飙升。而这个句子正是对孔塔夺冠一事的评论。
句中两个短语（或习语）值得我们注意：
someone's/thing's days are numbered
(fly) under the radar
第一个短语是指“某人/某物时日无多，屈指可数”。
someone's/thing's days are numbered:
someone or something will not survive or remain in a position of power or advantage for much longer [14]
而习语 fly under the radar (亦作 slip under the radar) 原本是军事用语，指避开雷达偷偷飞入敌军领地的行为。

后在真人秀节目中反复出现，特指参赛者采取低调态度，希望通过不出头或不犯错的战术避免每周投票时成为众矢之的，进而避免被淘汰出局的下场，最终不知不觉成为冠军的有力争夺者。
扩展到日常生活中，它表示“为了达到某一目的而采取低调处事、逃避别人关注的行为”。
slip under the radar:
(idiomatic) To go unnoticed, especially for a long period of time. (Wiktionary) [15]
因此，新闻原句我们可以这样理解：
“由于约翰娜·孔塔在迈阿密网球公开赛上斩获职业生涯最高级别冠军，该英国选手长期默默无闻的日子不多了 (或很快就会声名鹊起) 。”
【例句】
(1) I knew my days were numbered at that firm. [16]
我明白我在那家公司的日子屈指可数了。
(2) Critics believe his days are numbered because audiences are tired of watching him. [17]
批评家猜想他走红的时间不会长了，因为观众现在厌倦了他的表演。

A: I heard you had a new girlfriend!
我听说你交了个新女友！
B: Yeah! But she’s kind of young. She’s only 15.
对啊！不过，她才15岁，年纪有点儿小。

该句摘自Fyre音乐节的组织者之一杰·鲁（Ja Rule，美国黑人说唱歌手、演员）的推特 (Twitter) 道歉声明。该音乐节原计划在巴哈马Great Exuma岛举办，历时两个周末（今年4月和5月之间），后因安全、食品、住宿以及艺人关系等问题被无限期推迟。
上述英文中有一句道歉语，几乎与中文完全对应，请看：
"... I’m deeply sorry to everyone who was inconvenienced by this..."
［译］“对于由此给大家带来的不便，我深表歉意。”

这个例子也再一次印证了“阅读为写作服务”的理念，下面我们按葫画瓢，仿写上句：

英：We are deeply sorry (to you) for any inconvenience caused by this.
