昨天刚好是七夕节,CP有CP的浪漫,单身有单身的寂寞。今天特别选了这样一篇文章,看看今天的大学生们的婚恋现状。文章选自Chinadaily,原文链接Most college students timid, picky, busy - and unmarried

    文章说,如今的大学生胆小挑剔,忙到单身,果真如此吗?一起看看后文吧。

People watch a drone performance at a scenic area(景点) in Changsha, in Central China's Hunan province, on Thursday. Groups of drones(无人机组) were used in a light show to greet Qixi Festival, or Chinese Valentine's Day, which fell on Friday this year. ZHANG XIAOYU/XINHUA

Feeling lonely and unloved on Chinese Valentine's Day? You're not alone. A recent survey found that 71 percent of college students(大学里,有71%的单身人士,信不信?) in China are single.

The survey of 2,394 college students nationwide was conducted in July by MyCOS(麦可思,一家位于北京的教育咨询研究机构), an education consulting and research institute in Beijing.

Qixi Festival, also known as the Double Seventh Festival, falls on(是,位于) the seventh day of the seventh month in the Chinese lunar calendar(阴历). This year's Qixi Festival falls on Friday.

More than half of the college students surveyed remain single because they have a small circle of friends, while 46 percent attributed their singleness(单身因为害羞) to shyness and 45 percent to pickiness(单身因为挑剔) in partners.

    单身的原因

However, 43 percent of students are single because they choose to be. They are simply not interested in being in a serious relationship at this time in life.

Looking for true love is the most important reason given by college students for entering a relationship, followed by finding companionship(找个伴), passing the time and having sex.

Good character is the most important factor college students are looking for in a partner, chosen by 96 percent. Personality comes in second(位居第二) with 91 percent.

While 74 percent of male students think appearance is important, female students usually have more comprehensive considerations(男性看脸蛋,女性都要看) for future partners, including health, intelligence, economic condition and family background.

Zhuang Chen, a second-year graduate student at Peking University, said "being in a relationship is not an easy task, and I want to get it right".

"I'd rather be happy and single than unhappy in a relationship(宁肯做幸福的单身狗,也不做不幸的男朋友)," he said.

Zhang Xiaofeng, a sophomore(大二学生) at Wuhan University, said his busy schedule at school keeps him from meeting and dating(约会) new people.

"After a long day's study, I feel more like putting on pajamas(穿着睡衣) and crawling into bed(蜷缩在床上) than going out into the uncertain and anxiety-provoking(引发焦虑的) world of meeting people," he said.

点评:The survey may not reflect the viewpoint  of all the current college students towards a relationship but it does reveal a critical problem. If they continue to be so picky or shy when faced with a girl/boy, chances are that their singleness might remain until their adulthood and continue till they miss the optimal age of getting married.
