My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damasked, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress when she walks treads on the ground.
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.

如果说香水气味芬芳,
可她的呼吸中香味难寻。
我爱听她开口讲话,
虽远不如音乐悦耳动听：
我的爱人走路是常人的步态,
我承认从未见过仙女的身形。
然而,天啊,我的爱人弥足珍贵,
尽管难与那些美妙的比喻相提并论。
不知道莎士比亚他老人家是怎么想的，但是这首诗拿到现在，谈恋爱的小伙子们对着心爱的姑娘倾吐心声：你眼睛嘴巴皮肤头发这不好那不好……下场可想而知：可能还等不到最后那句转折，姑娘的高跟鞋就已经扔过来了！当然，除非小伙子有艾伦.里克曼一样天鹅绒般丝滑的声音，还有梁朝伟一样深情专注的目光，那随便他念个什么都好。
所以说，“从前慢”也有其优势，至少这首诗作为一封信送到姑娘手里，其作者不会立刻被胖揍一顿，等姑娘读完信，说不定还真能回嗔作喜，芳心暗许呢……
