诗词西韵 (24) Short-lived (七绝 短暂)

The torrential rain ended the night with flashes

Flowers were scattered beneath the bald branches

How short-lived are the dew drops on the grapes

So is life, a song rippled across Five Lakes.

注：flashes， 闪电。五湖原意是范蠡泛舟五湖，表示淡薄安逸的意思。 不过英文直译Five Lakes 之后这个典故就没有了. 这是直译的难处之一。英文ripples across five lakes 和暴雨，闪电，落花，露珠和生命一样都体现了短暂，却失去了中文在短暂中享受淡泊逍遥的心境。这是两个不同的文化，华夏文化的淡泊从容比较特别。

暴雨狂风夤夜至，繁花零落晓枝孤。

人生若露存留短，岁月如歌唱五湖。
