Keep Your Eyes Open, and Stay Far Away from Evil Companions

How do you tell the difference between evil companions and true spiritual teachers?

A true spiritual teacher is a person who extinguishes afflictions like greed, ignorance and hatred, and let the love in your mind increase day by day.

A true spirtual teacher can lead you toward happiness, freedom, and great good. The opposite of this is an evil companion.(page 147)

The strength of your mind and spirit is not sufficient to resist external objects, you must keep your eyes open and stay far away from evil companions.

And you must not be corrupted by their evilness just because you want to save them.(page 153)
