About Painting

I fell in love with painting in elementary school. This dream of becoming a painter followed me any way I went, and to this day, I still want to be an artist. Also, when I was very young, I like Chinese painting. Later, because I was studying,working, and being too busy, I didn’t paint for many years, but I liked painting since I was a child. I couldn’t put down my painting in my heart. I picked it up again three years ago, my brush starts to draw.

My artwork over the past three years is primarily focused on cultural issues. It represents my cultural background; although my painting style renders surrealism and minimalism, the stories behind them express my journey.

As you can see my artwork explores the varying relationships between popular culture and fine art. I engage ideas from my past that are diverse from the current culture I live in, which expresses both change and homesickness. The subject matter of each body of work determines the materials and the forms of the work.  Each project often consists of multiple works, with a range of different ideas, and are grouped around specific themes and meanings.  During research and production, new areas of interest arise and lead to my next works of art.

I am very passionate about oil painting, that’s the reason I choose learn oil painting. I hope that one day in the future, my painting level will get better and better.
