On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, (John 2:1 NIV)

His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” (John 2:5 NIV)

Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. (John 2:6 NIV)

Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. (John 2:7 NIV)

and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside (John 2:9 NIV)

and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.” (John 2:10 NIV)

What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him. (John 2:11 NIV)

His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for your house will consume me.” (John 2:17 NIV)

The Jews then responded to him, “What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?” (John 2:18 NIV)

Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” (John 2:19 NIV)

They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” (John 2:20 NIV)

Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. (John 3:1 NIV)

He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” (John 3:2 NIV)

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. ” (John 3:3 NIV)

“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!” (John 3:4 NIV)

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. (John 3:5 NIV)

Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. (John 3:6 NIV)

To this John replied, “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven. (John 3:27 NIV)

The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.” (John 4:15 NIV)

He told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.” (John 4:16 NIV)

“I have no husband,” she replied. Jesus said to her, “You are right when you say you have no husband. (John 4:17 NIV)

The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. What you have just said is quite true.” (John 4:18 NIV)

“Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet. (John 4:19 NIV)

Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.” (John 4:20 NIV)

“Woman,”Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. (John 4:21 NIV)

You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. (John 4:22 NIV)

Just then his disciples returned and were surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked, “What do you want?” or “Why are you talking with her?” (John 4:27 NIV)

Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, (John 4:28 NIV)

“Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” (John 4:29 NIV)

“My food,”said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. (John 4:34 NIV)

Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. (John 4:35 NIV)

Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. (John 4:36 NIV)

Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” (John 4:39 NIV)
