【学什么】
这个句子比较长，包括了一些从句，接下来具体分析下这个句子结构。
第一步：找主干句的主语，The fact
后面有一个that引导的从句，这时候就考虑是定语从句还是同位语从句。
区别这两种句型的要点是，that在从句里是否作为一个成分，也就是说，把that去掉，后面的从句是否完整。
many students would choose to study only one or two subjects.
主谓宾很完整的句子，好了，that引导同位语从句，无疑，用来解释fact 的内容。
第二步：找主干句的谓语，makes it all the more crucial....
在形容词crucial（重要的）后面竟然有一个that引导的从句，请不要奇怪，先看从句结构，that是否在从句中充当成分。
universities require students to study a variety of subjects
主谓宾很完整的句子，那么可以确定这也是that引导的同位语从句，做谁的同位语呢？从句解释的内容都在前面，不会在后面，那么往前看，看到make后面的it，没错，that解释的就是it 的内容。
还原一下句子：
makes it that universities require students to study a variety of subjectsall the more crucial
这里是make 的一个常见用法：
make sth +adj 使得什么怎么样
举例：make it clear/possible 使变得清楚、可能
因为make的宾语过于长，避免头重脚轻，一般会把宾语后置，形容词提前。
这里的宾语it是一个形式宾语，真正的宾语是that引导的同位语从句。
解释到这里，应该对第二个that从句的用法理解了吧~
第三步：找出其他修饰成分，状语结构
in order to prepare them for the challenges they will face in their careers and personal lives.
in order to do sth 为了做某事，做了整个句子的状语，这个很明显。
但是，这个状语结构里还隐藏了一个从句，一个省略了关系代词的定语从句。
the challenges（which/that）they will face in their careers and personal lives.
还原一下句子：
they will face the challengesin their careers and personal lives.
看到了么~因为challenges在从句里做宾语，所以关系代词是可以省略 的。
最后学三个短语：
1、all the more：副词，“更加”=very
但是比very高级多了。
2、a variety of：各种各样的
之前在金句第一期也学到一个关于各种各样的表达，还记得吗？

接下来把prepare的用法一网打尽：
一、prepare用作及物动词时：
1.prepare sth.表示"准备.",后接名词或代词作宾语.

3.prepare sb.for sth.表示"使某人对某事有所准备".（本文出现的结构）
4.prepare to do sth.表示"准备做某事.".
二、prepare用作不及物动词时：

三、prepare的名词形式为preparation,
它可以和介词in一起构成in preparation for短语；
也可和动词make一起构成make preparations for短语,表示"为.做准备".
四、prepare是一动词,意为"准备".其用法相当灵活,现归纳如下:
1.prepare sth."准备某物",宾语是所准备的内容.（及物）
2.prepare to do sth.准备做某事,（不及物）
3.prepare for +（目的）."为了某个目的做准备",for是准备的目的.（不及物）
