After this, Jesus went around in Galilee. He did not want to go about in Judea because the Jewish leaders there were looking for a way to kill him. (John 7:1 NIV)

But when the Jewish Festival of Tabernacles was near, (John 7:2 NIV)

Jesus’ brothers said to him, “Leave Galilee and go to Judea, so that your disciples there may see the works you do. (John 7:3 NIV)

No one who wants to become a public figure acts in secret. Since you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.” (John 7:4 NIV)

For even his own brothers did not believe in him. (John 7:5 NIV)

Therefore Jesus told them, “My time is not yet here; for you any time will do. (John 7:6 NIV)

The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its works are evil. (John 7:7 NIV)

However, after his brothers had left for the festival, he went also, not publicly, but in secret. (John 7:10 NIV)

Now at the festival the Jewish leaders were watching for Jesus and asking, “Where is he?” (John 7:11 NIV)

Among the crowds there was widespread whispering about him. Some said, “He is a good man.” Others replied, “No, he deceives the people.” (John 7:12 NIV)

But no one would say anything publicly about him for fear of the leaders. (John 7:13 NIV)

Not until halfway through the festival did Jesus go up to the temple courts and begin to teach. (John 7:14 NIV)

The Jews there were amazed and asked, “How did this man get such learning without having been taught?” (John 7:15 NIV)

Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me. (John 7:16 NIV)

Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. (John 7:17 NIV)

Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him. (John 7:18 NIV)

Here he is, speaking publicly, and they are not saying a word to him. Have the authorities really concluded that he is the Messiah? (John 7:26 NIV)

But we know where this man is from; when the Messiah comes, no one will know where he is from.” (John 7:27 NIV)

but I know him because I am from him and he sent me.” (John 7:29 NIV)

At this they tried to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come. (John 7:30 NIV)

Still, many in the crowd believed in him. They said, “When the Messiah comes, will he perform more signs than this man?” (John 7:31 NIV)

The Pharisees heard the crowd whispering such things about him. Then the chief priests and the Pharisees sent temple guards to arrest him. (John 7:32 NIV)

Jesus said, “I am with you for only a short time, and then I am going to the one who sent me. (John 7:33 NIV)

You will look for me, but you will not find me; and where I am, you cannot come.” (John 7:34 NIV)

The Jews said to one another, “Where does this man intend to go that we cannot find him? Will he go where our people live scattered among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? (John 7:35 NIV)

What did he mean when he said, ‘You will look for me, but you will not find me,’and ‘Where I am, you cannot come’?” (John 7:36 NIV)

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. (John 7:37 NIV)

Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” (John 7:38 NIV)

By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified. (John 7:39 NIV)

On hearing his words, some of the people said, “Surely this man is the Prophet.” (John 7:40 NIV)

Others said, “He is the Messiah.” Still others asked, “How can the Messiah come from Galilee? (John 7:41 NIV)

Does not Scripture say that the Messiah will come from David’s descendants and from Bethlehem, the town where David lived?” (John 7:42 NIV)

Thus the people were divided because of Jesus. (John 7:43 NIV)

Some wanted to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him. (John 7:44 NIV)

Finally the temple guards went back to the chief priests and the Pharisees, who asked them, “Why didn’t you bring him in?” (John 7:45 NIV)

“No one ever spoke the way this man does,” the guards replied. (John 7:46 NIV)

Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus earlier and who was one of their own number, asked, (John 7:50 NIV)
“不先听本人的口供，不知道他所做的事，难道我们的律法还定他的罪吗？” (约翰福音 7:51 和合本)
“Does our law condemn a man without first hearing him to find out what he has been doing?” (John 7:51 NIV)
他们回答说：“你也是出于加利利吗？你且去查考，就可知道加利利没有出过先知。” (约翰福音 7:52 和合本)
They replied, “Are you from Galilee, too? Look into it, and you will find that a prophet does not come out of Galilee.” (John 7:52 NIV)

The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group (John 8:3 NIV)
就对耶稣说：“夫子，这妇人是正行淫之时被拿的。 (约翰福音 8:4 和合本)
and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. (John 8:4 NIV)
摩西在律法上吩咐我们把这样的妇人用石头打死。你说该把她怎么样呢？” (约翰福音 8:5 和合本)
In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” (John 8:5 NIV)
他们说这话，乃试探耶稣，要得着告他的把柄。耶稣却弯着腰，用指头在地上画字。 (约翰福音 8:6 和合本)
They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. (John 8:6 NIV)
他们还是不住地问他，耶稣就直起腰来，对他们说：“你们中间谁是没有罪的，谁就可以先拿石头打她。” (约翰福音 8:7 和合本)
When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” (John 8:7 NIV)

Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. (John 8:8 NIV)

At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. (John 8:9 NIV)

Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” (John 8:10 NIV)

“No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” (John 8:11 NIV)

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12 NIV)

The Pharisees challenged him, “Here you are, appearing as your own witness; your testimony is not valid.” (John 8:13 NIV)
耶稣说：“我虽然为自己作见证，我的见证还是真的；因我知道我从哪里来，往哪里去；你们却不知道我从哪里来，往哪里去。 (约翰福音 8:14 和合本)
Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I am going. But you have no idea where I come from or where I am going. (John 8:14 NIV)

You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on no one. (John 8:15 NIV)

But if I do judge, my decisions are true, because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me. (John 8:16 NIV)

In your own Law it is written that the testimony of two witnesses is true. (John 8:17 NIV)

Then they asked him, “Where is your father?” “You do not know me or my Father,”Jesus replied. “If you knew me, you would know my Father also.” (John 8:19 NIV)

He spoke these words while teaching in the temple courts near the place where the offerings were put. Yet no one seized him, because his hour had not yet come. (John 8:20 NIV)

Once more Jesus said to them, “I am going away, and you will look for me, and you will die in your sin. Where I go, you cannot come.” (John 8:21 NIV)

I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.” (John 8:24 NIV)

“I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is trustworthy, and what I have heard from him I tell the world.” (John 8:26 NIV)

They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father. (John 8:27 NIV)

So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. (John 8:28 NIV)

The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.” (John 8:29 NIV)

They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?” (John 8:33 NIV)

Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. (John 8:34 NIV)

Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. (John 8:35 NIV)

Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. (John 8:43 NIV)

I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. (John 8:50 NIV)
