I boasted among men that I had known you.

我在人前夸口说

我认识你

They see your pictures in all works of mine.

在我所有的作品中

他们都能看到

你的形象

They come and ask me, `Who is he? '

I know not how to answer them.

他们走过来，问我：

“他是谁？”

我不知道该怎样回答

I say, `Indeed, I cannot tell. '

They blame me and they go away in scorn.

And you sit there smiling.

我说

“其实，我说不出来”

他们责怪我

轻蔑地走开了

而你

却坐在那里

微笑

I put my tales of you into lasting songs.

The secret gushes out from my heart.

我把有关你的传说

编成不朽的诗歌

这秘密

从我心中喷涌而出

They come and ask me,

`Tell me all your meanings. '

他们走过来，问我

“告诉我

所有你那些诗歌的含义”

I know not how to answer them.

I say, `Ah, who knows what they mean! '

They smile and go away in utter scorn.

And you sit there smiling.

我不知道该怎样回答

我说：“啊，谁知道

它们意味着什么！”

他们讥笑着

鄙夷地走开了

而你

却坐在那里

微笑.......
