On the day when death will knock at thy door
what will thou offer to him?
当死神叩响
你房门之日
你将拿什么
奉献给他？
Oh, I will set before my guest the full vessel of my life---
I will never let him go with empty hands.
呵，我会在我的客人面前
摆上我满斟的生命之杯－－
我绝不会让它空手而归
All the sweet vintage
of all my autumn days and summer nights,
all the earnings and gleanings of my busy life
will I place before him
at the close of my days
when death will knock at my door.
