Every Monday evening I have a gym class at the Little Gym.
We are practicing skills routines for show week. It will be on two weeks later. Show week is to show your parents what you have learnt.
In the show week, we will first perform together then perform separately. We will do a bar, a beam and a floor routine.
The bar routine includes a pullover over the low bar, three casts and a back hip cycle. Then turn to the high bar and do a front support, also do a tummy roll and swing down the mat.
For the beam routine, first it is a front support, then leg apart on the beam, stand up on the beam and do your air best. Next, do a somersault to stand up. Afterwards do a cut wheel and a hand stand dismount. Finally look at the parents and present.
For the floor routine, first walk to the middle of the red mat and present. Then get ready for your next move, and do a cut wheel. Next skip to the edge of the red mat, and do a tumble routine. Afterwards, do a dive roll to the middle of the red mat. Finally we go back to the beginning gestures and present.
When we practice, we use a song to guide us in the specific rhythm so that we can do the correct moves. The song is fun and I think it's for the little gym.
