I Renewed My Driver's Licens

I went to DMV to renew my driver's license, and surprise surprise, I got my renewed one within 0.5 hour. This lightened up my whole day!

Why am I so happy about this? For all my previous renewals, I had to wait at least one hour, even if I made an appointment. I fully truly understand that my experience today might be one-of-a-life-time one... There's a reason that Zootopia chooses the slothes as the DMV staff. But I'd like to be fair -- I don't think they act that slow, it's just the amount of people have DMV needs is overwhelming, sometimes well beyond the DMV staff capacity, that's why I almost always had terrible long waiting.

There must be many reasons contributing to this. One of them has to have something to do with the fact that US is the country on the wheels: the increasing amount of cars on roads, amount of car transactions and registrations, requesting and renewing driver's licenses. I'm sure the "get a number and wait in line" is one of the ways people came up to speed up the process, but I'm not sure if it works that well for every day. For areas with a high volume of needs, we may simply need extra facilities, so that people have more choices.
