写在前面的话

更新完第一，二, 三期看老友记学英语后，有好多小伙伴受到鼓励表示要和我一起学习，感觉自己总算做了一件有意义的事。还有小伙伴提供了一些建议，帮助我更好地来做这件事情。在这里表示感觉。还有小伙伴建议我建立微信群一起学习。对于这个意见我已经开始筹备了，等准备的差不多了就可以拉大家入群了。谢谢大家的鼓励和支持，我会尽力坚持一直更新下去，不让大家失望。如果有翻译或者解释的不到位的地方，还是欢迎大家多多指正。

Scene: Monica's Apartment, everyone is there and watching a Spanish Soap on TV and are trying to figure out what is going on.]

Monica:Now I'm guessing that he bought her the big pipe organ, and she's really not happy about it.

译文：我猜他送她一台管风琴，她肯定不喜欢，

解析和应用：organ是一个多义词，我们常用的还有器官的意思。

Chandler: (imitating the characters) Tuna or egg salad?  Decide!

译文：金枪鱼还是鸡蛋沙拉？快决定！

解析和应用：这里是Chandler模仿剧中的人物，自己加的台词。因为Monica是个chef，所以后边会学到很多关于吃的的单词。Tuna,金枪鱼,点餐的时候可以用到。

Ross: (in a deep voice) I'll have whatever Christine is having.

译文：我要点和克莉丝汀一样的。

解析和应用：这里是Ross继续配音，虽然他今天心情特别不好，还是在配合小伙伴们搞笑。这句话在生活中很常用，和同事出去吃饭的时候就可以说，我要点一份一样的。

Rachel:(on phone) Daddy, I just... I can't marry him! I'm sorry. I just don't love him. Well, it matters to me!

译文：爸，我不能嫁给他…对不起，我只是不爱他。但是，这和我相关。

解析和应用：这里目测Rachel的father最后一句话应该是，It doesn’t matter to me,所以Rachel反驳道 it matters to me!

(The scene on TV has changed to show two women, one is holding her hair.)

Phoebe:If I let go of my hair, my head will fall off.

译文：如果我没有了头发，我的头也会掉下来的。

解析和应用：他们在继续配音。这里我们可以学到一个短语let go of，是放手，放下的意思，如表达不要再想昨天了，展望未来吧– Let go of yesterday, just fixate on tomorrow.

Chandler:(TV) Ooh, she should not be wearing those pants.

译文：她不该穿那条裤子。

Joey:I say push her down the stairs.

译文：我建议推她下楼。

解析和应用：这里可以注意say的用法，表达自己观点的时候就可以这样说。另外就是推下楼的说法，电影里常见的桥段你可以试着用英语表达：He pushed his wife down the stairs.

Phoebe, Ross,Chandler, and Joey:Push her down the stairs! Push her down the stairs! Push her downthe stairs!

(She ispushed down the stairs and everyone cheers.)

Rachel:C'mon Daddy, listen to me! It's like, it's like, all of my life, everyone has always told me, 'You're a shoe! You're a shoe, you're a shoe, you're a shoe!'. And today I just stopped and I said, 'What if I don't wanna be a shoe? What if I wanna be a- a purse, y'know? Or a- or a hat! No, I'm not saying I want you to buy me a hat, I'm saying I am a ha- It's ametaphor, Daddy!

译文：爸，你听我说……我这一生中，大家都告诉我：你是一只鞋……今天我突然想看看如果我不再是鞋会怎样。如果我想当一个钱包呢？或是帽子呢？不，我不需你帮我买帽子。我说我是一顶帽子。爸，这是一种比喻！

解析和应用：表达从小到大爸妈都教育我好好学习可以说：All of my life, my parents have always told me, 'You must study hard! '比喻的说法–metaphor.

Ross:You can see where he'd have trouble.

译文：你看他也有些问题。

Rachel:Look Daddy,it's my life. Well maybe I'll just stay here with Monica.

译文：爸，这是我的人生。或许我会和莫妮卡住在这儿。

Monica:Well, I guess we've established who's staying here with Monica...

译文：我想我们已确定好谁要和莫妮卡住在这儿

解析和应用：establish的用法，可以用来表达确定的意思，也有建立的意思，如 I’ve established a great relationship with him.

Rachel:Well, maybethat's my decision. Well, maybe I don't need your money. Wait!! Wait, I saidmaybe!!

译文：或许那是我的决定。或许我不需要你的钱。等一下，等一下……我说的是或许！！

[Time Lapse,Rachel is breathing into a paper bag.]

Monica: Just breathe, breathe, that's it. Just try to think of nice calm things...

译文：深呼吸，就这样。试着去想宁静美好的事物……

解析和应用：calm我们常用来形容人冷静，平静。也可以用来形容事物，如The lake is calm, the water is not moving.

Phoebe:(sings) Raindrops on roses and rabbits and kittens, (Rachel and Monica turn to look at her.) bluebells and sleighbells and- something with mittens... La la lala...something and noodles with string.  These are a few...

译文：玫瑰花上的雨滴，小兔子和猫咪，风信子和着雪橇铃声，一些关于手套，面条和绳子的事情。

解析和应用：kitten可以想到kitty，都有小猫的意思，可以对比记忆。Sleigh,雪橇的意思，不要觉得单词生僻就不记，好的词汇量都是这样练成的。这个单词可以按发音形象地记成，拉雪橇，死累（s + leigh）

Rachel:I'm all better now.

译文：我现在好多了。

解析和应用：这里Rachel没有用much better用了all better，用来强调好很多了，意在让Phoebe不要再唱了。

Phoebe:(grins and walks to the kitchen and says to Chandler and Joey.) I helped!

译文：我帮上忙啦。Grin这个词让我想起了疯狂动物城结局的时候，树懒从车里探出头来的咧嘴一笑。学英语就是这样，要时刻联系到可以用得上的语境。

Monica:Okay, look,this is probably for the best, y'know?Independence. Takingcontrol of your life.  The whole, 'hat' thing.

译文：或许这样最好，自立，掌控自己的人生。做一个”帽子”。

解析和应用：for the best,是最好的（安排）。工作的时候发现一个方法很好用，就可以说：It turned out to be for the best.

Joey:(comforting her) And hey, you need anything, you can always come to Joey. Me andChandlerlive across thehall. And he's away a lot.

译文：有任何需要找乔伊准没错。我和钱德勒就住在对面，而且他经常不在家。

解析和应用：表达一个人经常不在家，就可以说，he’s away a lot.

Monica:Joey, stop hitting on her! It's her wedding day!

译文：Joey,不要撩她了，今天是她结婚的日子。

解析和应用：如果你男朋友发现有人在撩你，他可能就会说：You can not hit on her any more.

Joey:What, like there's a rule or something?

译文：什么？有规定不能吗？

解析和应用：当你反驳别人禁止你做某事的时候就可以说，Is there arule or something?

(The door buzzer sounds and Chandler gets it.)

Chandler:Please don't do that again, it's a horrible sound.

译文：别再这样，声音很刺耳。

解析和应用：Chandler在剧中好几次提到了刺耳的铃声，有一次是在办公室他的助理给他打电话，后边给介绍到。

Paul:It's, uh, it's Paul.

Monica:Oh God, is it 6:30?Buzz him in!

译文：我是保罗。

天啊，6:30了吗？让他进来！

解析和应用：Buzz him in，有人按门铃的时候你就可以这样表达。

Joey:Who's Paul?

Ross:Paul theWine Guy, Paul?

Monica:Maybe.

Joey:Wait. Your'not a real date' tonight is with Paul the Wine Guy?

译文：保罗是谁？调酒的那个保罗？或许吧。等等,你今晚所谓的不是真的约会是和调酒的那个保罗？

Ross:He finally asked you out?

Monica: Yes!

Chandler:Ooh, this isa Dear Diary moment.

译文：他终于开口约你了？对。终于被你等到了。

真是个可以载入日记的时刻。

解析和应用：老外写日记的第一句经常会是，dear diary. 所以这里Chandler很幽默地表达这是Monica非常激动的时刻。我们平时也可以用，比如说获奖了，就可以说，That is really a dear diary moment.

Monica: Rachel, wait,I can cancel...

Rachel:Please, no,go, that'd be fine!

Monica:(to Ross)Are, are you okay? I mean, do you want me to stay?

Ross:(choked voice) That'd be good...

Monica:(horrified)Really?

Ross:(normalvoice) No, go on! It's Paul the Wine Guy!

译文：瑞秋，等等，我可以取消。

不用了，你去吧，我不会有事的。

罗斯，你没事吧。你要我留下来吗？

那样最好……

真的吗？

- 假的，去吧！是保罗，调酒师耶！

Phoebe:What does that mean? Does he sell it, drink it, or just complain a lot? (Chandler doesn't know.)

译文：什么意思？他是卖酒的，喝酒的，还是经常抱怨？

(There's a knock on the door and it's Paul.)

Monica: Hi, come in! Paul, this is.. (They are all lined up next to the door.)... everybody, everybody, this is Paul.

译文：请进！ 保罗，这位是…………各位，各位，他就是保罗

解析和应用：介绍Rachel的时候用的一样的台词。

All:Hey! Paul!Hi! The Wine Guy! Hey!

Chandler:I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name. Paul, was it?

Monica:Okay,umm-umm, I'll just--I'll be right back, I just gotta go ah, go ah...

Ross:Awandering?

译文：保罗……调酒大师。

抱歉，我没听清楚你名字。保罗，是吗？

我马上就好，我去，去……

神魂恍惚啦？

解析和应用：没有听清楚别人说的话，就可以说I didn’t catch what you just said.

Monica:Change!  Okay, sit down. (Shows Paul in) Two seconds.

译文：换衣服！请坐，两秒钟。

解析和应用：用second表示马上，如果说你想请教一个同事问题就可以说：Do you have asecond, I wanna ask you a question.

Phoebe:Ooh, I just pulled out four eyelashes. That can't be good.

译文：我刚拔掉四根睫毛,情况不太好。
