Because I could not stop for Death-
He kindly stopped for me-
The carriage held but just Ourselves-
And Immortality（永生）.
We slowly drove--He knew no haste（匆忙）
And I had put away（抛弃，储存）
My labor and my leisure too,
For His Civility--
We passed the School,where Chilren strove
At Recess（休息）--in the Ring--
We passed the Fields of Gazing Grain--
We passed the Setting Sun--
or rather--He passed Us--
The Dews（露珠） drew quivering（颤抖） and chill--
For only Gossamer,my Gown--
My Tippet--only Thlle--
We paused before a House that seemed
A swelling of the Ground--
The Roof was scarcely（几乎不，仅仅） visible--
The Cornice（飞檐）--in the Ground--
Since then--'tis Centuries--and yet
Feels shorter than the Day
I first surmised（揣测） the Horses'Heads
Were toward Eternity--
1863?

我们路过学校，看到闲暇时孩子们
在圆形操场上正玩闹喧嚣
我们经过凝视着我们的稻谷和田野
我们经过将暮未暮
或者说是落日经过了我们
黑暗前的露珠使我颤栗而寒冷
因为我仅穿着薄纱做成的衣裳
我的披肩 ，只是绢网
我们停驻在一所房子前
像隆起的地板
屋顶，隐约可见
飞檐，低于地面
从那时算起，便已过了几个世纪
却仍然感觉短过一天的光阴
我初次揣想
马头，朝向永恒
