Offering four weeks’ or more vacation is not simply a way of rewarding the staff for all their hard work, but a fundamental question of principle. I quite approve of the standpoint that employees are entitled to at least 4 weeks’ holiday a year, which is beneficial for them and their employers as well.
There’s no doubt that those who work under pressure feel a very strong desire to escape from trivial and tedious routine and become less stressed and strained during their annual leave. For this reason, they need some time off annually to experience a changed environment, which is are now seen by most of them as necessary to their quality life.
Furthermore, employees who take holidays each year can be more enthusiastic about their jobs and perform more effectively and efficiently than those who do not. More importantly, they are less prone to accidents and are less likely to suffer from stress, anxiety and depression because they have regular breaks to rest and re-energize, which means they might take less sickness absence.
In addition, when employers grant employees the right to go on vacation, they can also reap tremendous benefits. Actually, it's no exaggeration to say that the long-term future of a company rests on how employers treat their staff. For one thing, taking time off is known to provide workers with a whole new perspective on how to balance work and life. For another, offering more holiday than the statutory four weeks can keep employees motivated and loyal to the companies.
All in all, both employers and employees benefit from at least four weeks’ holiday per year. In doing so, employers operate their enterprises more productively; employees work better at their jobs and contribute more to the continuous development of their companies.
