我们经历了最黑暗的朝夕，
女人说着，不带一丝烟火气。
最难过的日子要来了，还有更大的灾劫，
男人从容地应答她。
他们身旁，连一丝火苗也没有燃起。
他们最终的长夜依然没有短兵相接。
他们吃白面包，咬破苹果，
喝着冰水，盯着一步一步
一路而来的虚无，
颇像冒出死海的一只巨蟹。

Days

Milan Djordjević

We’ve lived through darkest of days,
the woman says without any emotion.
Worst days are coming and greater horrors,
the man answers her quietly.
Next to them, not even a fire is lit.
Their final darkness is still far off.
They eat white bread and bite into apples,
drink cold water and stare at Nothing
that comes their way, step by step,
like a monstrous crab out of the Dead Sea.
