当我们说一个人有很多钱钱，我们会说他钱袋子鼓鼓的，英语里有个形容词和这个表达有异曲同工之妙：
deep-pocketed
比如去年经济学人某篇有关共享经济的文章中有这样一句话：
Still, the latest funding round for Didi Chuxing shows how capital continues to rush into the global ride-hailing market, where deep-pocketed investors are jockeying to place bets on companies that they believe will continue to transform the way people get around.
不过，滴滴的最新一轮融资显示了资本在怎样继续涌入全球网约车市场。财力雄厚的投资者们正在这个市场上竞相把赌注压在那些他们认为会继续改变人们出行方式的公司身上。
一看这个deep-pocketed就知道是由deep和pocket组合到一起的，那么deep pocket是什么意思呢？大钱包吗？
deep pocket可以表示一大笔钱、丰富的资源，所有者可以是公司机构，也可以是人，比如：
the American tobacco companies have "deep pockets"
还有pocket这个动词也不能放过：捞取〔钱财〕；赢得〔奖金等〕
Johnston pocketed 2,500 in prize money.
约翰斯顿得到了2,500美元的奖金。
完美替换gain, get这种白开水一样的动词有木有~~
还有一个词组也可以表达这种get了很多钱钱的意思：
rake in：
The privatization allowed companies to rake in huge profits.
私有化使各公司轻易地捞到了巨额利润。
而且这个词还特别强调是很轻松就拿到了很多钱钱，梦寐以求的人生巅峰有没有~~
类似的还有什么profit, net, gross，这些都可以作动词，意思都差不多，只不过net是税后，gross税前：
Some industries, such as shipbuilding, clearly profited from the war.
某些行业，例如造船业，显然从这场战争中获利了。
I was netting around 64,000 a year. 我一年净赚约6.4万美元。
The movie has already grossed over 10 million. 这部电影票房总收入已经超过1,000万美元。
从这个例句又get了最热门、最叫座的另一种表达，和gross有关：top grossing，the top grossing film票房冠军哦。
还有bring in, pull in这样的小词，也可以派上用场：
I have three part-time jobs, which bring in about $24,000 a year.
我有3份兼职工作，一年能赚大约$24000。
She must be pulling in over $100,000 a year.
她年收入肯定过十万美元了。
话说有付出才有收获，所以赚钱之前肯定要投资对吧，投资除了invest，还可以用pour in，而且是说土豪一掷千金的那种哦：大量投入〔金钱〕于〔某事物〕
They’ve poured thousands of pounds into developing the business.
他们已经投入几千英镑开发这项业务。
如果没钱投资，预算不足，那可以用这个词：squeeze: 严格限制〔公司或组织的资金〕；压缩
The government is squeezing the railways’ investment budget.
政府在压缩铁路投资预算。
squeeze也可以作名词：拮据；紧缩
All manufacturers are feeling the squeeze(= noticing the effects of a difficult financial situation ) .
所有的生产商都感到资金紧张。
这个词今天说不太吉利，呸掉呸掉~~
