Singing Snowberg
Chapter Three
Hide-and-seek <2>
Chros©“Mind happiness comes from the stability of your present status of the body, try to make a little space and stick to that place for our upcoming meditation courses. It’s best to have a friend you can trust reading them for you....”
“Fuck...”, what? Who would say something this horrible? That’s a girl, turning around and leaving. She’s Sunder. I’ve carved her looks on my heart, I won’t mistake her with anyone else.
“What are you doing here?” “I lost sleeps, I need pills.” She shows me a paper prescript and lights her cigarette. The smoke flies through the venting fans, the smell of orange is filling this room. She gave me one, oh the cigarette is a good thing. My head is filled with the smell of orange. I remember Rosa and me once shared a blueberry one, it did create illusion in your head. Rosa said that was the best virtual experience she ever felt. The walls of my room became purple blue, blueberries were dancing in the air. We snatched them in joy, in the end our hands and clothes were stained with purple and blue.
“Why don’t you squeeze some of these oranges? It’ll be fun.” I snatched one and squeezed to make it explode. “I just watch, sometimes they’re annoying.” I guess there’re no pure cigar available here. I have so many doubts in my head, but look at her face I know it’s not the time. She’s too far from the one in my dream.
“It’s a total pleasure meeting you.” She waves her hands in the air as if to drive off the annoying oranges, stares at me for a second and looks up, “yeah.” We keep our positions in silence long enough for the fruits to disappear, pretty awkward atmosphere indeed. “Gotta go, meetings again.” “Please wait, where did you buy the...?” She threw it to me, “it’s yours.”
“Hello, Solcia.” I tried to be very polite. “Yes. Here you are.” She points to a folded notepaper. “I’ll deliver to room 008.” “Oh my sunshine little Runner, do not just go like this.” She waves at me. Follow her command I sit on a stool next to her bed.
“I assume you are very interested in my story, so let me tell you.” She sits straighter and clears her throat, “I have been here for 3 years, they put me here because I can read minds.” Oh, I never thought of superpower thing could happen in my life, I want her to test me: tell me what I’m thinking. “Your face is disguising, there’s a naughty boy inside. Please do not go away, I have to tell you more.” But I’m leaving, I need oranges.
Willowen is exhilarated to see me. “Promise me don’t puke again, then I’ll give it to you, then you’ll get out of here.” This is what a naughty boy would do, haha. But Willowen hides his smile into his pillow, can’t see his face. This is dangerous enough. I place the note on his palm and suddenly he takes off the pillow, wide smile on his face. “I’m going to starve myself tomorrow for your help, and I don’t want to leave.” Then why did you use “locked here”, I won’t trying to get you out.
“Bala-bala, I have another message!” He drew out a note from somewhere, this notepaper is made of the pills paper package. The room number is 574, Alice, good name. I’ll definitely deliver for him, but tomorrow. Why don’t they do it themselves? Now I’m sure this is a madhouse wing. Can’t stay here for too much time, I’m already a madman.
Lunatics lunatics lunatics, lunatic potatoes, lunatic salad, lunatic bowl and fork, lunatic... “Cyano, look!”
What the.... Oh Salix, “hello.” “Why do you looked so down?” I’m not, Salix you idiot, I’m lying, you’re lying. “Don’t be a brutal, Cyano, just eat your food.” Alright alright, I’ll eat, I’ll eat my squash.
“Look what I got,” He waves his hand, “I gathered from other people.” Oh yes, the Gobang papers. “So you’ll come tonight.” He frowns in an imperceptible way, “you need me?” Don’t talk rubbish of course I need you, “hum, I have a book about meditation, I think you could read the guide.” “So you need me, say it.” What is this about? I meant it so obviously why do I have to say it? “Just come.” I hate my tongue.
His salad looked good, I have to taste it. “Please don’t, they’ll see, Runners can’t fall in love.” Rubbish again, you’re refusing me, you hate me, we had sex and you’re bored with me. “Don’t bother coming.” “Come on, Cyano, what I said is true, it’s rule.”
I leave the table, “Lucy, how long the full charge will last for your player?” “Fifty hours.” “Thanks.” Why didn’t Devo find me, oh I forgot to give him my room number. You idiot, but he could find me here? Will I give him the charger? He might love those Chinese melodies.
Door is opened when I’m in the fiesta.
