中国的经济继续沿着快速的轨道发展，许多中国人正在改变自己的生活方式，而在这样做的同时，他们总是准备好迎接任何新的挑战。

不好译文：China's economy keeps developing along a fast rail.Many Chinese are changing their own lifestyle and, at the same time as they do this, they are always prepared to meet any new challenges.

较好译文:As China's economy continues on the fast track, many Chinese are changing their lifestyle and ,in so doing, they are ever ready to meet any of the new challenges.

讨论：

➀“中国的经济继续沿着快速的轨道发展”不要翻译成独立句子，翻译成as引导的状语从句，句子逻辑更加紧凑；

翻译思维：英语重逻辑，呈树状。

➁“改变自己的生活方式”翻译成are changing their own lifestyle,多出了一个own。比如：He put his hand on his head.不能翻译成“他把他的手放在自己的头上”，这样会引起歧义，而是翻译成“他把自己的手放在自己的头上”。由此可见，“自己的”不一定就等于英语的"own"，其含义往往可以包含在一个像his或their这样的物主代词里面；

➂in so doing是一个很地道的表达，比 at the same time as they do this更加简洁；

➃“任何新的挑战” 翻译成 meet any new challenge 没有错，但不妨改成 meet any of the new challenges，语气则更强。
