When I give up the helm

I know that the time has come for thee to take it.

我放下舵盘

知道该到

你接手的时候了

What there is to do will be instantly done.

Vain is this struggle.

该做的事

马上就会进行

再怎么强求

也没有用

Then take away your hands

and silently put up with your defeat,

my heart, and think it your good fortune

to sit perfectly still where you are placed.

那就把你的手拿开

默默地承认失败吧

我的心

想想吧

能在那位子上

稳稳坐着

就已经是好运了

These my lamps are blown out at every little puff of wind,

and trying to light them I forget all else again and again.

每一阵小小的微风拂来

我这几盏灯就会熄灭

为把它们重新点燃

我一次又一次

忘了其他的事

But I shall be wise this time and wait in the dark,

spreading my mat on the floor;

and whenever it is thy pleasure, my lord,

come silently and take thy seat here.

但这次

我要学乖一点

把席子铺在地上

就在黑暗中等待

您什么时候高兴

我的主

就悄悄地来这儿

坐下吧......
