The Bean Pod
He Zelan
It is right and proper in the courtyard
such a plant long-illed. Falling in mid-summer
an easterly wind removed the gentle joy from its belly
only my mother still feeding it like a good doctor. Plowing,
watering it with folded faith, nourishing it with riverside moon
to save it from life.
Until the evening began to wilt, white doves
swept through gaps of sunlight. Time passed,
my mother got up and returned to her June
Afar in the sky, white clouds stepped back and back
Looking out through the pod's eyes
I lost my ability to recognize but greetings left
