Academics 学术
UCLA isn't #2 public school in the nation for no reason. What sets us apart from #1 (UC Berkeley) is the academic atmosphere. UCLA is competitive due to the sheer number of smart kids, but it isn't cutthroat like UCB. Students here are very willing to help others. Academic sabotage isn't a thing here compared to UCB, which is infamous for it.
UCLA在全美所有公立大学中排名第二并不是浪得虚名，虽然没有第一Berkeley那样高的学术氛围，UCLA的学术竞争还是挺强的，毕竟这里聪明人很多，但也没有Berkeley那样争得你死我活。在这里，学生们都愿意互相帮助，不像Berkeley“臭名昭著”的学术斗争那样，学生们不会在学术上互相搞破坏。

Campus 校园
UCLA is a beautiful campus. The gym, libraries, and housing facilities are fantastic. Classrooms could use some work though as most are unrenovated and have outdated technology.
UCLA的校园美极了，体育馆，图书馆，宿舍楼都特别棒。教学楼也许需要一些维修和保养，因为大部分都挺老旧了。
LA has so much going on it can be overwhelming combined with everything that is also going on on campus. Westwood and UCLA is a bubble but usually as you get older students venture out into LA more. There are some unique advantages of being in west LA that no other school in the country (including USC) has, such as movie premieres with red carpets at the Westwood movie theater, celebrities sports stars and NBA teams visiting and practicing on campus, sneak peak screenings of new movies, etc.
洛杉矶的生活如此丰富多彩，再加上UCLA校园里的各种精彩活动，有的时候都会让你应接不暇。韦斯特伍德就像围绕在UCLA的一个泡泡，把学校跟外界隔开，不过当你逐渐长大，你也会想要打破这个泡泡到洛杉矶更大的圈子里去生活。在洛杉矶西部上学比美国其他大学要多许多好处（USC也没有这些好处），比如，你能在韦斯特伍德电影院看到很多首映会，明星走红毯，还有体育明星，NBA的队伍也会来学校参观训练，甚至有时还能看到新电影上映前的试映。
Westwood is literally the best place to live. Beautiful area on the westside of Los Angeles, the best city in the world.

I feel safe on campus and have seen UC police efficiently provide safety especially last year when a professor was killed.

it is safe. Although recently there was a murder, but I think that's rare. Personally I will not go back late, and stay late. Although the "gun" problem do exist, especially for parents that they are very worried about the campus safety.

The campus housing is great, the only problem is it is too little for graduate students. I have wait for more than 4 months, and I could not get one.

Dorms are good for the college experience but you can definitely save money by being in the apartments.

We have guaranteed housing for the first two years of college, and the school is still building more housing such that, eventually, EVERY student will be guaranteed living quarters on campus.

Overall Experience 总体体验
Amazing Professors, great diversity of students, and an immense variety of student organizations to participate in.

Great College with a lot of diversity and professors are well educated.The studies are fast pace and alot of workload but this is one of the best schools in the world. Very close to the beach and major attractions so you can hang with your friends in different locations.

I absolutely love my school. There is a warm atmosphere. It's clean, safe, and beautiful. Everyone I've met is ambitious and passionate about what they are doing. It's incredible to see a campus filled with thousands of happy and driven students.

Party Scene 校园派对
I've been to tons of frat parties and a few apartment parties. I don't drink, so I get bored if the music isn't spectacular. 18+ clubs in West Hollywood, such as Avalon or Rage, aren't very fun.
我去过很多兄弟会姐妹会的party还有人们在公寓开的party。因为不喝酒的关系，除非音乐很赞一般我都觉得挺无聊的。好莱坞西边有一些18岁以上就能进的夜店，比如Avalon或者Rage，但是我去过感觉都挺无聊的。
Frat parties are particularly disgusting, with their floorboards sticky with urine and cheap alcohol. Partying isn't necessary to have fun; lots of students who don't party still enjoy themselves.
兄弟会姐妹会的party真的有点恶心，满地都是黏糊糊的廉价酒甚至还有排泄物。你不需要去party也能玩的很好，很多学生都不去party的。
Frat houses are the biggest source of the party scene here. It seems there's always some party going on.
大部分party都开在兄弟会姐妹会的房子里，而且他们似乎每天都在开party。
I actually don't go to parties much so I can't a lot about them. However, the weekends do have lots of parties among the Greek houses.

If you aren't into parties, there is no pressure for you to go to them. If you like the partying lifestyle, there's plenty for you!

UCLA's performance is one of the best in the country. Once there is a saying the the medal UCLA earned is more from one country. There are various sports facilities, clubs. When there is match, school will announce and inform every student to cheer up the athletes.
UCLA各种运动校队的表现在全美都是数一数二的，曾经有人说过UCLA得过的奖牌比一个国家得过的都多。校园也有各种体育设施和俱乐部。每当有比赛的时候，学校都会通知每一个学生来给运动员加油。
Greeks are great if you're interested in them. The sorority housing is pretty amazing!

Our greek life is as stereotypical as one would see on tv. There is hazing, crazy parties, and cliques. While the panhellenic ("main") sororities tend to be extremely elitist, and reserved for the rich and white, the others are extremely welcoming. It all depends on where you look and who you are as a person.
这里的兄弟会姐妹会就和你在电视上看到的那种一样，疯狂开趴，拉帮结派。虽然最顶尖的那些会比较精英主义，只收白人富人为成员，其他的大多都比较开放，欢迎所有人。不过，这些也都得看你的具体情况。
Value 发展价值
The career center provides excellent help for students by providing in person help and workshops.

the application fee is a bit high.. higher than other schools. Only career office provide help, you still need to apply, prepare yourself. That's common, but sometimes you have to apply for multiple positions, and that take times.
在这附近找工作申请费用会比较高，比其他学校高。职业发展办公室会帮助，但是你也得自己申请，自己准备。这很正常，不过有的时候你得多找几个岗位来申请，这挺花时间的。
The career center and counseling are very helpful。
