驱逐

从都柏林回家，我祖母
在门上看到了逐客令。
现在她出庭是因为拖欠了房租，
而律师们被逗笑了。
这些都是简易法庭，
这里是德罗赫达，现在是银行休息日,
他们的评论成了报纸专栏的补白。
通知送达了么？
通知收妥了么？
她是周租客还是月租客？
原告的租金本子上
登了她名字么？
案件审结了，但却驳回了。
留下了秋天的夜晚，
留下了她曾出入的房间，
留下了我一直抵御的
历史的原因。
一个女人离开法庭满含眼泪，
一个国家正在走向光明。
历史记下的是次者，而不是首位。
它也不知道答案，就像
为什么是一个冬天的夜晚
为什么是现代爱尔兰
在德罗赫达的版面我徘徊其间
1904年的阿格斯和伦斯特纪事报，
我知一如我行，我的注意力
没有作用，真没有。也没有愤怒。

诗人简介：伊文·博兰（Eavan Boland，1944年9月24日-2020年4月27日）爱尔兰当代诗人、作家，1996年以来她是史丹福大学终身教授。

1、德罗赫达（Drogheda）爱尔兰东岸港口城市，距离都柏林56公里，德罗赫达是博因河流入爱尔兰海的最后一个流经的城市。
2、阿格斯和伦斯特纪事报，英文全称是The Drogheda Argus and Leinster Journal，爱尔兰历史上一份报纸，创建于1837年，1929年12月21日被德罗赫达广告商吸收合并。

Eviction

Back from Dublin, my grandmother
finds an eviction notice on her door.
Now she is in court for rent arrears.
The lawyers are amused.
These are the Petty Sessions,
this is Drogheda, this is the Bank Holiday.
Their comments fill a column in the newspaper.
Was the notice well served?
Was it served at all?
Is she a weekly or a monthly tenant?
In which one of the plaintiffs’ rent books
is she registered?
The case comes to an end, is dismissed.
Leaving behind the autumn evening.
Leaving behind the room she entered.
Leaving behind the reason I have always
resisted history.
A woman leaves a courtroom in tears.
A nation is rising to the light.
History notes the second, not the first.
Nor does it know the answer as to why
on a winter evening
in a modern Ireland
I linger over the page of the Drogheda
Argus and Leinster Journal, 1904,
knowing as I do that my attention has
no agency, none at all. Nor my rage.
