In desperate hope

I go and search for her in all the corners of my room;

I find her not.

怀着无望的希望

我在房间里

每个角落

去寻找她

可我找不到

My house is small

and what once has gone from it

can never be regained.

我的房子很小

一旦谁从这里离开

就再不会归来

But infinite is thy mansion, my lord,

and seeking her I have to come to thy door.

但你的宅邸无边无际

我的主

为找寻她

我只好来到你的门前

I stand under the golden canopy of thine evening sky

and I lift my eager eyes to thy face.

我站在

你傍晚金色的苍穹下

向你抬起我渴望的眼

I have come to the brink of eternity

from which nothing can vanish---

no hope, no happiness,

no vision of a face seen through tears.

我已到了永恒的边缘

这里万物不灭－－

无论是希望，是幸福

还是透过泪眼

看到的面容

都不会消逝

Oh, dip my emptied life into that ocean,

plunge it into the deepest fullness.

Let me for once feel that lost sweet touch

in the  of the universe.

呵

就让我将空虚的生命

投入这汪洋

沉浸在

这最深的圆满之中

就让我

在这最完满的领域

再一次感受

那业已失去的

甜蜜触碰.......
