需要荫凉

路人、纸、还有大理石：日光下显得
   刺目。
白得纯粹、吓人。我们以这些名字盖住
    墙亘——
伊奥劳斯、帕特罗克洛斯、安提洛科斯，而鸣蝉声
    环绕我们
在这远古的凄凉里。“哪里荫凉嘛，哪里荫凉嘛，”
   下面葡萄园的采摘人
大喊大叫。“哪里荫凉嘛，”应答的是
    峭壁的回音。
荫凉不为避暑，而是为了两眼清凉——即便小到
只有那两个点，如一尊无头雕像双乳之下
两个小点那么小，如此之小。

译注：
1、伊奥劳斯（lolaus）是希腊神话中的底比斯英雄，伊菲克勒斯之子，赫拉克勒斯的侄子和爱人。
2、帕特罗克洛斯（Patroclus），意为“父亲的荣耀”。荷马（Homer）所著的伊里亚德（Iliad）中有记载，是阿基里斯（Achilles）的好友（一说是恋人）。
3、安提洛科斯（Antilochus）古希腊神话人物之一。皮洛斯君主涅斯托尔的儿子，凭借足智多谋而闻名于世。曾参加特洛伊战争，并作为希腊联军将领而在此发挥重要作用。他的形象广见于古希腊相关艺术作品中。
4、转译自埃德蒙·基利的英译版。里索斯的诗句一般都比较长，本译文参照英文版排版，对较长的句子做了切断，开头空一个字位的行表示与上一行是原文中同一行。

诗人简介：扬尼斯·里索斯（Yannis Ritsos 1909-1990）希腊著名诗人、现代希腊诗歌创始人之一。诗中采用“戏剧性独白”的形式，是其最独特之处。

The Need for Shade

Yannis Ritsos

The passerby, the paper, the marble: blinding in the
     sunshine.
The total whiteness terrifying. We cover the walls with
     names--
lolaus, Patroclus, Antilochus while cicadas sound all
    around us
in this ancient nakedness. "Some shade, some shade,"
    cries the the grape harvester
down in the vineyards. "Some shade,"answers the echo
    from the vertical rocks.
Shade not for hiding but to cool the eyes--even as little
as that with two points, so very little,
under the breasts of a headless statue.
